Getting caught up on last nights episode of Deadliest Catch....those guys are crazy to do what they do.

The wife and I were out recently.  I ordered some surf and turf thing that came with some crab legs.  She said something to the effect that people might have died to get me those crab legs.  I stared at her for a second and then said the only thing that seemed appropriate, "Wasn't this supposed to come with some drawn butter?"

most likely your crab was caught by a communist.

I've been downloading a lot of shows I'd normally DVR since I'm living with the in-laws and don't want to put dumb shit on their DVR.

Workaholics cracks my shit up. Reminds me so much of a lot of my friends.

Archer is an animated manifestation of Arrested Development's style of humor.

Jon Benjamin Has a Van...fills that subversive silly-and-stupid-in-a-smart-way humor void that the Sarah Silverman Program left behind. And it stars the same guy who plays Archer. Buy stock in this guy.

When does Walking Dead Season 2 come out?  October?

On Mon., Jun. 6, production of The Walking Dead Season 2 officially kicked off. Now AMCtv.com begins its series of on-set interviews with the show's talented creative team by chatting with executive producer Robert Kirkman about his expectations for the second season, why he won't play a zombie and Glenn's love prospects in the apocalypse.

Q: With Season 2 underway, what are you looking forward to?

A: Time spent in the Atlanta sun. I don't go outside a lot and it's nice to be in nature. Mostly I'm just looking forward to seeing the actors again. We don't get to hang out that much, so it'll be fun to get back to seeing those guys and interrupting them while they're working: "I know you're really worried about this scene and you're trying to get your lines straight and everything, but let's chat about what I saw on TV last night."

Q: What are you expecting from the first few weeks?

A: It's a funny question: I really don't know exactly what they're going to be shooting. But I will say there are some really awesome set-pieces coming up in the first episode. It's just going to be a lot of fun to get back and see Andrew and Sarah and Jon in costume again, watching Greg Nicotero make zombies again. It's gonna be a lot of fun.

Q: Have you seen what Greg has planned, zombie-wise?

A: Oh yeah. I've seen a lot of the stuff that he's been putting together, and I can just say that he's definitely taking things to the next level. I used to joke when we were promoting the first season, I would say "These are the best zombies that you've ever seen because Greg Nicotero has perfected his craft, and if he goes and does a zombie movie next THOSE will be the best zombies you've ever seen." And now I'm happy to say that The Walking Dead Season 2 zombies are the best zombies you've ever seen because that's what Greg Nicotero is doing next. There are going to be some memorable comic book zombies here and there, and then a lot is just Greg going, "OK, what can you do to the human body?"

Q: Previously, you announced that Hershel's farm would play a big factor in Season 2. What can you tell us about that?

A: Season 1 focused on Atlanta so much, and we got to see desolate Atlanta and how this stuff affects cities. And that was really cool, and a lot of cool visuals come from that. But rather than repeat ourselves we're going out into the woods. We're gonna see a lot of rural roads and open fields see how bad things are as you get away from the city centers. It's definitely different enough that Season 2 stands on its own and has its own thing. And a lot of that comes from Hershel's farm and seeing these characters. All I can say is it's gonna be great, and the casting on Season 2 is going to be as pitch-perfect as the casting on Season 1. I can't wait for everyone to meet Hershel.

Q: Any hints who will be playing him?

A: We were looking really hard at Charlie Sheen for everyone, but he can't play multiple roles. Turns out he can't even play one, so, I don't know. [Laughs]

Q: How does the fact that Shane's still alive change the story since he died so early in the comic?

A: While we're mapping out this arc and figuring out this story, we'll pull something in from the comic and then we'll go, "OK, so how does Shane existing change this? What does Shane bring to the situation? What's going on with his character at this point and how does it affect this thing that's already existed." It's really neat for me to treat The Walking Dead TV show as an alternate dimension where Shane lived, and there's all this different stuff happening because of that. Shane really throws a wrench in a lot of stuff.

Q: Are you now reluctant to kill him off?

A: Yeah absolutely. It's hard thinking about killing any character. If they're good characters, there are always more scenes to write, but this is the nature of things: There are zombies around. People gots to die. And after getting to know Jon Bernthal and see his portrayal of Shane, it's not an easy decision. He's past his expiration date by comic book standards, but Shane is by no means rotten. I think he's remaining fresh for a while. We'll see.

Q: Last season you were pretty adamant you wouldn't be dress up as a zombie. Have you had a change of heart?

A: I have not changed my mind. It's just a pet peeve of mine: I don't like recognizing people in cameo. I'm fine with cameos where I know that's a buddy of mine that's a zombie, but I do so much promotion for the show I just feel like viewers would be like, "That's that guy from the Internet! What's he doing in the background?" I feel like I would stick out like a sore thumb and ruin the scene. Also, I would not be able to resist the urge to wave. No one wants to see a waving zombie.

Q: How about directing an episode this season?

A: No, no no. That's ridiculous. I won't do that until Season 3. [Laughs] Look, directing looks really difficult. And I'm really proud of the fact that I've made my living by doing things that aren't very difficult. So, you know, I don't want to start working for a living. That just seems unwise to me.

Q: What can you tell us about Season 2 that no one knows?

A: It's hard because you're AMC, so I should be able to just say a bunch of things. But I don't want to get either of us in trouble. So let me think... It's gonna be a lot of fun seeing a potential love interest for Glenn. He ended up being a fan favorite in the first season, so we get to see a little bit of romance for this guy.

I have also been watching a lot of SpongeBob here latley, which I can handle and actually laugh at......on the other hand, the Wonder Pets make me want to stab my eyes out with needles and ram a screwdriver in my ear.  Did I mention that I hate those things?

Hopefully tonight I can start Season 3 of Sons of Anarchy.  Really like that one, it's been sitting on the DVR for a while.

If there are any comic lovers out there, and you haven't read Walking Dead, it might be the best thing in comics in the past 5 years.

They were shooting down at ATL motor speedway and had an open casting for zombie extras.  I started to go down for it but it was on a weekday and I realized that between the leg humper and turd fans they would already have the mindless zombie quota filled.

When does Walking Dead Season 2 come out?  October?

I recall reading an article awhile back that said it will premiere on Halloween again.  They thought about putting it on earlier, but with the reception that it got when it was shown at the culmination of AMC's Fear Fest, they decided to do it again.

But there have been rumors (http://www.moviesonline.ca/2011/01/walking-dead-season-2-coming-july/) about it coming in July, so, who knows?  Hopefully it's sooner than later, but I imagine they'll still go for the October premiere.

Dead Like Me.

One of the most undervalued shows in the history of television.

An awesome, well-written, well acted show that never got its due.

On Netflix now.  Highly recommend.

Yeah, I am thinking that Josh is the one that will have to keep the boat going if either one of the do.

Just finished catching up on Ax Men for this season.  Finished Moonshiners last week.  Not a bad show, fake as hell, but entertaining.   The addition of Popcorn Sutton was nice.  Thought about buying his book a couple of years back.  I should have then, but didn't really have that much interest in it.  I had seen him on a couple of history Channel specials.  I think "Hillbilly" was one of them, but can't remember.   I should have bought it since it has gone out of print.  I wouldn't mind getting my hands on it and some of his "likker".

Going to finish up the past season of "Sons of Anarchy" and the first season of "American Horror Story" in the near future.  I have been lucky here lately to get caught up with what I have so far.   Hoping to get caught up before the next seasons start.  :(

I've learned that there is no reality show that is "reality". When the people on the reality show know there is a camera rolling, they will not act 100% natural. They will act, and think about what they are going to say/do more.

Agree 100%.  I threw out all that out the window a long time ago and just go along with it.  Although, I do know a guy that went to Louisiana for work and while he was down there he took a weekend to search out for Shelby from AxMen.  Found him, said that dude is as crazy in real life as he is on the show.  Took him out for a ride with Willie, let him shoot the pistol and invited him back anytime he had a chance.

Being a fan of the Alky-halls made me turn into Moonshiners.

It may disappoint many, but Pawn Stars is fake as hell. Saw that in person out in Vegas. When you see a deal being done on the show, the deal has already been done off camera beforehand. If an item or person is interesting to them that they made a deal with, they basically line everyone back up, get everyone (except a couple of extras) out of the shop and film a "fake" scripted deal for the TV show.

Ever notice how when they are haggling a deal you only see 4-5 people in the shop? This is why. Every day of the week, that place has thousands of visitors, and people line the place shoulder to shoulder. When they go to film, they clear the place. After I was told all of this by a few of the guys that worked there, I totally got turned off from the show. They also said the owners are there about 10% of the time at best. So tourists hoping to see them......good luck.

My brother was out there not long ago and told me the same thing.  Stayed long enough to get a t-shirt and then left.  Said they had a bunch of shit items on the shelves as well.  The stuff (weapons, cars, guitars) must be taken to auction, b/c they aren't anywhere to be seen for the most part.

A couple I'd disagree on are the two I watch the most, Deadliest Catch and UFC.  I'd say Deadliest Catch is about spot on because there's not a lot of acting that can go on when it's 20 degrees, snowing, sleeting with the wind blowing 60 and the seas throwing you around the boat.  Just do your job and hang on. That's reality enough for me and for some reason, very entertaining.

The UFC, if you don't watch it, takes a bunch of up and coming fighters and puts them all in a house for 6 weeks while they fight their way to a UFC contract.  They divide them into 2 teams, which does cause a whole hell of a lot of drama, but at the end of the day, it's really every man for himself.  I'm sure there's some hamming it up for the cameras but the "reality" is, these are some mean, bad ass mother truckers who fight for a living.

Never gave it much thought, but doesn't surprise me.  What did surprise me was "Big Shrimping".  Geeeezus Christo, the captains of those shrimp boats make the dumbest Alaskan crab boat hands look like fucking Rhode's Scholars.  Getting a little tired of all these "reality shows" about idiot southern rednecks.

All I know is Troy Landry filled his last tag with less than an hour to go in the season, with a 13'6" gatah.

Choot him Elizabit...choot him

Agreed.  How can you not want to see what's on the other end of that line.  Grabbing a small rope with a 500 lb. gator thrashing like a mofo on the other end is just good television.  However, I feel for the people filming because they have to be around those people and huge coolers of "bait" all day....which is.....big chunks of rotting chicken.  There's not a whole lot worse than rotten chicken.  Yeeeeesh

Ok, confession.....I will DVR shows and I am real bad about getting a season behind and then getting caught up.  I can't do that with Swamp People.  I had to watch last night.  Anyone else catch it?

Will ask again about Bearing Sea Gold?  Worth watching?

Also caught an episode of Mudcats or whatever.  Those guys................yeah, they are idiots.

I can't say that I've watched it but "Bering Sea Gold" looks really interesting to me too.  I may watch an episode to see if it's worth it.  My only problem is that I've got too many Stories that I'm DVR'ing (is that a verb?) now...don't need another one.

I can't tolerate too much of "Swamp People"; that's one show that I MUST use the closed captioning feature to watch.

To me that is part of the fun.  Trying to figure out what the hell they just said.  The Brothers (Glen and Mitchell) are pure gold.  I am sure between them two lots of  :high: :bong: takes place.

I've been watching some of "Wilfred" when I can. I recommend catching some of it too. The dog/human is pretty damn funny.

I just started this on Netflix and am 3/4 of the way through the season.  I avoided it because it looked like a stupid premise and I generally hate Elijah Wood.

But this shit is pretty strong.  I would recommend anyone with a warped sense of humor to check it out.

Finished Wilfred this weekend.  It meandered a bit towards the end, and there were some odd cast replacements at the finish line, but a solid 4 seasons of low-brow humor mixed with metaphysical musing.

Two and a half years is a lot of meandering.

What....you think metaphysical musing just happens over night?

He's a deep thinker. And from what I gather, a heavy drinker.

Low brow humor does....but that metaphysical musing is an entirely different world man.

Started watching Ascension on Netflix (think it was on SyFy in first run). Pretty good so far. Kind of a Twin Peaks in space thing.
