At one point a few years ago, Alabama decided it would arbitrarily stop counting one of the titles Atcheson originally claimed and instead claim the title from another year. So, the Tide, in essence, lost and won a national championship at least six decades after the games were over.
That's a numbers scheme that would make (former SPuat student) Bernie Madoff proud.
