Jimmy Buffet - Southern Cross
NO WAY is that as good as the original.  That is one of my favorites.

And thanks to Uncle Sani, i am now listening to one of my favorite Bob Seger songs.  Originally written by Rodney Crowell, Shame on The Moon has incredible lyrics... I told Sani, and I will say it again - Bob Seger recorded some of the most amazing lyrics in music.

Until you've been beside a man
You don't know what he wants
You don't know if he cries at night
You don't know if he don't
When nothin comes easy
Old nightmares are real
Until you' ve been beside a man
You don't know how he feels

Once inside a woman's heart
A man must keep his head
Heaven opens up the door
Where angels fear to tread
Some men go crazy
Some men go slow
Some men go just where they want
Some men never go

Oh blame it on midnight
Ooh shame on the moon

Everywhere it's all around
Comfort in a crowd
Strangers faces all around
Laughin right out loud
Hey watch where your goin
Step light on old toes
Cause until you've been beside a man
You don't know who he knows

Yes, also Warm Love, Into the Mystic and Queen of The Slipstream.

I have lots of favs.  Pretty much anything by Van makes the list - other than Gloria.  Kind of hate that song.

Had a bitch ex-boss by that name but that's not it.  The only song I like where spelling out a word is an acceptable lyric is R-E-S-P-E-C-T. Gloria is just a stupid song.  Not up to par with his other genius-level efforts.

For my last tune before I head to the house...

Whiskey Hangover - Godsmack

***edit***

Couldn't turn the iPod off, because Whiskey River came up next in the rotation.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

"Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress" - The Hollies

Although ABBA getting into the RnR HOF this year was a farce in my book, The Hollies getting in as well was a silver lining. I've always thought they were very underrated.

Deep Purple getting snubbed this year was more of a slap in the face than KISS to me.

So yesterday started the Bob Seger kick.  Gonna be listening to the Nine Tonight Live album on the ride home.

I can't listen to music when I work because of what I do.  I can just see myself writing a contract while listening to the iPod...

You ought to try it.  When I am not in the shop I keep my zune at my desk and keep one ear bud in.  Helps me keep my mind focused on what I am doing instead of the village idiots I have.
