Damn kids...
« on: January 29, 2010, 12:13:44 PM »
Is it me or are more kids switching during the last week of recruiting than ever before?  It happens some every year, but I feel like this year it's really crazy.

Every time I click on the ESPN recruiting front page, the notes off to the right are riddled with "Jimmy Jackoff switches from UNC to Illinois" or whatever.

Right now, here are the headlines on the list...

Four-star rusher Rajion Neal swaps Mississippi State for the Vols
Former Irish pledge Giovanni Bernard picks North Carolina
Dexter McDonald dumps Illini for Missouri, dumps Tigers for Kansas (yes, that's two switches in one news flash)
Five-star Coleman switches from Auburn to Tide (just kidding, and actually, ESPN has him as a 3-star)

It just seems like it's happening more here at the end than ever before.

Bi-product of kids "committing" early.  Way too early in most cases.  They're way too impressionable to commit, and THEN go on recruiting visits.

Doesn't surprise me.

Was about to post the exact same.  If the NCAA doesn't put in a early signing period for football, it'll be like this for a long time, especially with coaches jumping around.
