Your generation is the one that is phuking this country up, we're just trying to fix it.

No, actually the Socialists and 'Progressives' are the ones fucking up this country.

It's still your generation.  And  Progressivism actually does work in State and local elections, but I agree it does not work on a federal level.

Your ideas on how to "fix" this country prove that your generation still has much to learn. It seems you want to "fix" this country with my generation's money.

Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.

Progressivism does not work in a free-market, capitalist society.  You can nearly guarantee equality of opportunity but you can't successfully engineer equality of outcome and still enjoy the same Freedom and Liberty that we have (such as it is with the Statists in the White House and Congress).  Even the great Theodore Roosevelt himself could not make Progressivism work and it was, of course, and epic failure in his pathetic bid as a third party candidate.

Now if you favor Progressivism on a more local level you're in good company with Representatives Dennis Kucinich, Bernie Saunders, and our own John Lewis from Georgia's 5th District...left-wingnuts all.  I could also throw in Cynthia McKinney too for good measure.  (I'm reminded of the bar scene from Star Wars for some reason.)

And, unlike most of the self-important, entitlement minded Baby Boomer generation my generation actually learned something from the Greatest Generation about the rewards of hard work and making a living WITHOUT the need of the nanny-state, big brother government that your generation appears to need in order to wipe their own noses.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

Good point, all around.  Just remember not everyone from our generation wants nor needs handouts from FedGov.  Some of us would outright reject it, if given the choice, based on principle alone.

Cynthia McKinney!  I have not heard that name in a while (thankfully).  Last I heard she moved out to the left coast and was trying to head up the "Green Party".  She was always good for  a

THIS is what I've been preaching since I used to teach school.  Our principal and the board wanted equality of outcome.  Always.

The only, only, only way to achieve equality of outcome was to set the bar so low that achievement meant essentially nothing.

This idiotic position extends all the way down to sports where some of the younger leagues no longer keep score so as to not "humiliate" the losing teams. Every child gets a trophy and a medal and the winning team's can't be any larger than the worst team's.

When there are no winners, ladies and gentlemen, nothing exists but a vast pool of losers.
