I've had both.  I make fun of Capt. Sourpuss cause he is so adamant about the greatness that is 360.

I had the original PS, after that I traded up to the Xbox, and finally I have the PS3.  The reason I went with the PS3 was because of the blue ray player, and 3 of my friends who were going to get the PS3 so that we could game together. Those 3 people are never on.  To be honest I don't really, see a huge difference in either machine, they both do the same damn thing.

I really wish they would do a pay service that would allow both platforms to play online, the coding can't be that far off. I would pay for that.
I've never played online much, but its a great time to start. I suck at COD

This

The way I understand the current agreement is that the software company "leases" the servers for online play from Microsoft/Sony respectively in lieu of owning them outright themselves.  Until you have a single game/game developer that is large enough to force both of their hands you will never see a true cross platform game. IMO.  COD 4 was the first push in that area and but that was only between PC and XBOX 360 versions.

The COD brand name is as close as any game developer has been in having the power to make them do a cross platform hosting option but even they would be taking a pretty big risk in throwing down the gauntlet to Microsoft/Sony.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

Received my cross adapter today so that is one problem down.

Sony does not make it easy to  use a non-bluetooth device even using their controller.  Not sure how I am gonna conquer that problem.
