All American Football League...
« on: January 22, 2008, 04:28:22 PM »
Does anyone actually give a fuck about this stupid league?  I would rather pull my pubic hairs out one at a fucking time than watch a bunch of shitty ex-bama football players try to relive past glory.  Fuck why don't we start a semi-pro league for all of us "bad ass" ex high school football players.  There's a reason that the CFL sucks, and why the XFL didn't work, or any other stupid start up league, your starts just don't shine bright enough to keep America captivated.  I guess the one thing that the Alabama team has going for them is their pshyco fan base that shows up like a bunch of carni's to an A day game.  Now they will get to see their beloved "next heisman winner" play again.  By the way, who the hell is their first heisman winner?

OK, now I feel better.  Any thoughts from the peanut gallery?

The commercial on WJOX about this team is enough to keep me away forever. I'm amazed that UAT hasn't threatened a lawsuit over the use of that horrible song.

Hell, they probably don't even remember what it is anyway.  Six years is a long time to remember even for an elephant.

Now I may be an idiot, but there is one thing I am not, sir, and that, sir, is an idiot.

The CFL is not a startup league, nor does it suck.

However, their foray into the lower 48 was an unmitigated disaster.

I agree with you, but the Southern football fans in Birmingham weren't buying.

I wasn't reffering to the CFL as a startup league, however I did mean to imply that it SUCKS!

I've got a Canadian friend who lives in Birmingham, he agrees that the CFL sucks.  Says that few Canadians watch it (I think they just go for hockey aye).   He figures that if it were not for the US folks that watched it, the league would go under.

Personally, I always felt that the CFL was just a semi-pro league that players would use to try and get to the NFL.  Arena football has kinda taken over that gig, I'm surprised the CFL has lasted.

I watched some CFL games this summer because I was in Canada and going through football withdrawal. Semi-pro at best. There are a handful of skilled players in the league who might, in the right circumstances, make an NFL roster.

Overall, I doubt any of the teams could beat a decent BCS conference team.
