It really does take a village to make a village idiot
« on: January 09, 2008, 03:40:17 PM »
In another thread (see "Iowa Caucas"; reply #10; dated 4 Jan 2008) I answered a fellow users question about  voters as "...people being that fucking stupid..." with a one word reply of "Yes".

This article represents a perfect example of two types of voters.  The educated voter and the village idiot.

One voter actually called and spoke with at least one of the mayoral candidates prior to voting for that individual (the incumbent, Mayor Church).  This was a change from his previous vote for Councilman Mathews for mayor.

The second voter changed her vote too only because she wanted to follow the popular vote.  (see her quote in the last sentence: "I saw that the popular vote was for Mayor Mathews and that's who the city wanted to go with.")  Apart from the fact that "Mayor" Mathews is not the current mayor obviously voting on her part does not require any brain activity...just follow the herd.

Yes, people are that "fucking stupid".

I actually live in Kennesaw, Georgia; this was a second mayoral election due to "voting irregularities" the first time around; here's the full article for those interested:

No; not that I'd refer to that place as a cesspool.  Is it time for another Upper Georgia TigerX meeting?

Could be. I'll have to call over there and see if I'm still banned.

Probably not the first time these four words have been uttered together:

Jaeger Bombs, Puke Trail.

Damn!  That's horrible man...I'm sure they really appreciated the puke trail there...in fact I do recall seeing them hosing the entrance area down one morning when I drove by.
