"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

I downloaded the software on Monday and have been trying to gain an education in video editing as fast as possible.  My (hopefully) future employer offered me an internship editing news video just to get my foot in the door.

Him:  Mr. Davis, are you familiar with video editing software?  Is this something you have experience in?

Me:  It absolutely is, sir.  I'm very confortable with many video editing softwares and it has been a hobby of mine in the past.

(Birmingham runs home as fast as he can to start googling video editing tutorials on Youtube to try and learn what the hell one even looks like)

You know, our very own Chopper has done some YouTube videos that are pretty damn good.  He may be able to help.

There's the two I still have up.  A few were taken down because a few eh hem... bama fans (seriously, not a smack talk deal) reported the music I used and YouTube forced me to remove, or swap the music.... I just took them down.

I liked your vid B'ham.  I think as you learn, I'd throw a few pointers at ya...

1. Start cropping the screen to eliminate score banners, tv logos and items like that.  (Mine don't at some points, but that's become I learned and got better with some vids)

2. I like your idea of "old" and "new".  I'd begin with the old and acknowledge the bad times... it'll make the progression and improvement seem more significant in the video.

3. Personalize it with some word graphics here and there that guides someone not familiar with anything bama has done.  In other words, someone from Wyoming should be able to see your video and with a little guidance understand the passion you have, or the reasoning why the recruits you showed were special, or why they are significant..

4. The music was good.

5. Try to limit effects like "strobe" or others like that to short bursts, it wrecks the flow after a while.  I think if you mix it up a little (different speeds), you'll be happy with what you see.

6. Stretch and move clips to match up to highs and lows with the music... Taking the time to do that can never be underestimated and is something people notice and appreciate when they watch.

Good first effort, and even though the subject matter makes me want to go shit in your driveway...  I'll help where I can.  I can recommend a few good programs... and yes, I give a LOT of credit for what I've learned to A96 as well.  We have shared many ideas, clips and information to help each other make our videos.

War Eagle, as a fellow die-hard to the death Cubs fan I appreciate yours and almost every other response.  It's good to know that I can get honest feedback from rival fans about a video that is extraordinarily slanting against them.  Some know here but it's worth mentioning that this was more of a trial video that I was making, using one of A96's videos as a tutorial.  You can't compete with that guy, this video is lightyears behind his stuff.

I was about to bust your balls for being unoriginal until you posted that.  The sequence of screen shots and music (including the opening male choir singing...I think that's the music from the video game Halo) was just like A96's.

But it's a trial, so you get a pass, even though I was disappointed that there were no scenes of cocaine usage, Saban tirades, or Cowboy watching 2 Girls 1 Cup for the first time present in your video.

That is precisely what I mean.  The possibilities are endless...The Julio catches a touchdown pass, then you edit it to cut to a clip of Cowboy going "That's just wrong...that's just nasty", etc.

Then end the video with him saying Roe Tide...and that motherfucker is guaranteed to win YouTube video of the year.

I can't open it - there is a porn block on our computers here at work, so all the shots of brother-sister-goat sex make this a no go.  So I have not seen it.

But if the guys on here approve of your efforts, especially given the subject matter, then it must be ok.  Well done.  I am sure the shots of foil highlights and non-amonia based perm techniques are fascinating.

I have been viewing some of A96's work today. The guy is talented for sure. The one problem I have noticed is that he tries to squeeze every new effect he has into a video. I'll use this one as an example.

There is too much going on at one time in places for me to really be able to watch any of it. The split/ multiple screens keep me looking back and forth and I can't watch all of the action on either one.
The continously moving background bothers me.
I wish I could do 1/10 of what he does. Sometimes it looks to me that he is using his new toys more than concentrating on telling the story.
I really haven't had anything to bitch about today. That's all I can come up with.
