Obama's half brother says he's been released from jail
Posted: 04:00 PM ET

NAIROBI, Kenya (CNN) — George Obama, the half brother of President Obama, told CNN on Sunday that he was released from a Kenyan jail hours after his arrest for possession of marijuana.

Kenyan police did not confirm whether Obama is still in their custody.

Obama spoke to CNN from his cell phone, and a family member also said he was released.

He said he was arrested on Saturday and released later the same day.

Inspector Augustine Mutembei said Obama was arrested for possession of cannabis, known in Kenya as Bhang, and for resisting arrest. He was being held at Huruma police post in the capital, Nairobi.

He was scheduled to appear in court Monday, Mutembei said.

But Obama told CNN that all charges had been dropped against him.

Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.

"Charges dropped", eh?

Yeah, there's got to be a back-story there that we'll never hear about.

George's Nairobi drugs bust embarasses US President
Barack Obama's younger half-brother George has caused embarassement for the US President after being arrested for possession of drugs in Kenya.

George Obama was charged with possession of cannabis in his home in a Nairobi suburb, and is due to appear in court today.

The head of police said: “He is not a drug dealer. But it is illegal, it is a forbidden substance.”

George (26) spoke to CNN from the Huruma prison in the capital:  "They took me from my home. I don't know why they are charging me."

Possession of marijuana in Kenya is usually tolerated, despite being illegal.

George Obama is the youngest of Barack Obama Senior’s eight children and was only sixth months old when his father died in a car crash. George hardly knows his half-brother, US President Barack.

A recent article in the Italian Vanity Fair said that George Obama lived on “a dollar a day”, but George was quick to defend his living situation, and said that the magazine had “exaggerated everything”.

Even new President Barack Obama admitted to taking drugs in his autobiography: “I partied a lot, drank a lot and took drugs. Cocaine and Marijuana."

Group Calls On Obama To Deport Aunt

Woman Was Living In Boston Housing Development

POSTED: 3:05 pm EST February 2, 2009
UPDATED: 4:40 pm EST February 2, 2009

http://www.thebostonchannel.com/news/18622945/detail.html

The Americans for Legal Immigration PAC filed an arrest request with Immigration and Customs Enforcement Monday and issued a public demand for Obama to deport Zeituni Onyango.

Onyango is currently under a court's order to leave the country or be deported, according to ALI-PAC.

Onyango is currently living in Ohio and has vowed to fight against being deported. Four years ago, an immigration judge instructed her to leave the country after her request for asylum from her native Kenya was rejected.

"President Obama has promised the American public that his administration will honor the principles of open government, the Constitution and the Rule of Law," said William Gheen of ALIPAC. "Obama must either deport his aunt or destroy his own credibility by showing her favoritism."

Last year, Onyango was found living in Boston. Obama said that he didn't know that one of his relatives was living in the city illegally and believes the appropriate laws should be followed.

A spokeswoman for the Boston Housing Authority said when Onyango was given public housing she met all federal and state standards. The deportation order came a year later, according to Lydia Agro. She said the BHA was never notified of the order.
