Before yesterday I didn't think he would make a team, after yesterday I say he will become a backup and make millions of dollars.  It's fun to talk crap about millionaires not being successful isn't it, Ogre?

You don't understand economics, do you?

Even if he makes a team -- which remains highly unlikely -- he won't make "millions" of dollars unless he stays on the roster for five or six years, at which point he might finally break that initial million-dollar threshold.

Meanwhile, many of us will work at our jobs making what we make now and at the end of ten years will have made more than JPW over the same period of time.

**Edit - I just went a reread your post.  You're right.  He'll never make millions, but my point is that he'll still be much more than fine in life.

I've got to disagree with you here.  If he does make a team, he'll be pulling in some serious money over a couple of years.  Unless you're banking 150K+, JPW will be just fine if he plays backup QB for a couple of years.  He'll more than likely get signed on at around 350K/yr.  Even if he plays a mere two years, his salary along with Alabama used car commercials, he'll have plenty of money to invest along with plenty of money to spend.  Not to mention, he'll probably walk right into a cush job as soon as he finishes in the NFL.

Here is a list of the back up quarterbacks in the NFL and what their 2008 salaries. In some cases back up qb's, such as New Englands Matt Cassel have taken over the starters job. They are still listed below. All salary information is from the USA Today's NFL Salary Database. (See related links)

more than likely will sign very late round or free agent onto a practice squad. wouldn't be surprising if Mike Shula puts in a good word for him somewhere.

That and $1.49 will get him a Mt. Dew at the Texaco station.

I don't see JPW being a millionaire any time soon.  I'd be willing to bet that Tyler Watts is knocking back more selling insurance in Birmingham than JPW will make if he goes pro.

The real question for JPW is can he hold onto a roster spot for 5 years and make his retirement?  Practice squad time does not count toward that total number for your retirement.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

Yeah, this is sort of like Brodie win the ESPN Skillz Challenge.....Brodie slung a ball five yards further then Vince Young....Bamer Nation continued to proclaim Brodie as the sure leader of the 2006 QB draft class for two more weeks. So now the question is......who will Croyle be suiting up with next year?

BTW....I don't think David Carr showed up in sunny Orlando for the event.

Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.
