So far it's pretty tight.   It's on Raycom for those that didn't know that it was on.

33-34 / Down by one at halftime!  Not bad.  1/2 at the free throw line.  The second half should be interesting.

I thought this was the football forum?

I'm watching on Dish 446 by the way.  Bouncing between this game and the Carolina game on ESPN.

I must have jinxed it by actually posting a score; still it's a more exciting game than the UNC/ Clemson game.

Well, there's still a little over a minute to go...

We played pretty good defense, which has been our strength, but offense was horrible.  Bad shot selections, turnovers and we got owned on the boards.

Overall...  Fail.

Yep, they hung around for a while.  Let me be the first tonight to say...this team is HORRIBLY coached.  Those of us X'rs who watched our beloved Planesmens beat the Tahd, knew we won because 1.) Bama sux this year and 2.) Auburn was hot throwing up 3's from everywhere.

Can someone tell me if Jeff Lebo has actually installed an offense?  This team does nothing more than run as fast as they can down the court and throw up the first available clunker they can heave.  And Lebo applauds it from the sidelines.  The ONLY screens they run are above the key to get a guard open to launch a 3.  How many times did the same guy who crossed half court with the ball chuck it up from 30 without making, or even looking for a pass?

And free throws?  Oh fuck it...don't even get me started.  They were shooting 59% coming in to tonight and the last stat I saw said they were 2 of 6.  Even the announcers said they had lost at least 4 games this year because they can't shoot a damn free throw.  And the SIX total free throws they had shot by the end of the game???  As the fabulous Raycom announcers pointed out....it's hard to shoot many when all you do is launch 3's.

Look, this team plays hard as hell.  They're scrappy and hustle the entire game.  But, they've been cheated having to play under this douchebag.  They are coached to play hard on defense and then run as fast as they can to the other end so the first guy that can even see the basket whips one towards the goal.  They aren't limited anymore by having nothing but 6'3" guys on the floor.  They have 6'5" and 6'7" Seniors.  They've got 6'9" and 6'10" kids playing.  They run ZERO plays to screen for cutters to the bucket.  NOTHING.

I look at this game tonight and think, "Damn, we've actaully got some talent.  What if we actually had some coaching?"  Holy fuck that was same shit, different day.  They'll win a few games simply because they have some talent and will get hot from the arc.  But, this team is destined for an NIT berth at the very most.  PATHETIC.  I feel sorry for the players.

Sumdood that writes for a paper in NW Arky was ranking the SEC men's programs... thought this was kind of sadly funny:

Quote
6. Auburn (Beard-Eaves Memorial Coliseum, 10,500): Despite closing in one end zone and adding curtains to other areas, this place seems more like an airplane hangar than a basketball arena. Again, the students are almost all of the atmosphere. Some want to blame Jeff Lebo, but how do you fire a basketball coach who is 68-70 (going into Wednesday night) after just hiring a 5-19 football coach?

Not saying I agree - just had to laugh...
