5 Favorite Guitarists.....

I was interested in seeing your list but no mention of Steven Hamner tells me that you have no idea what you are talking about.

My bad, I thought this was a list about guitarists, not people that Wiregrass wants in and around his mouth.

In that case:
Steven Hamner.

Yeah.  100%.  My only qualification is that he's inconsistent.  I can listen to the absolute WORST KISS song, but Ace's part is still strong.  There's some great work of his buried in some really juvenile, otherwise cringeworthy songs that languish unheard by most.

I could be wrong, but my perception of Schon was that he did some great things on certain songs, but just kind of wandered through others with uninspired licks.
Rock & Roll all night is the worst Kiss song IMO.

So hard to narrow it down, as it almost seems luda-kris to put Eddie Van Halen and Chet Atkins on the same list.  I realize it's "your favorite", and not claiming who you think is the best, but I can't help but try and put them in categories.  For instance, my favorite music is straightforward, bass driven rock and roll.  Needs a little funk to it.  Has to have some killer lead licks. That makes some of my favs:

Nuno Bettancourt
Joe Perry
Angus Young
Michael Shenker
Slash

A couple of guys that I consider some of the most talented, and versatile guitarists, that I love listening to are Joe Bonamassa and John Mayer.

As for Chet, got the privilege of seeing him live in Montgomery.  He collaborated with Jerry Reed on an album, and Mark Knopfler on another. Unbelievable guitar work.

It’s not a song. It’s an anthem…

Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.

I think it wouldn't suck as bad as it does if it wasn't overplayed.  It's the kind of oatmeal people who wouldn't normally listen to KISS do listen to.

If somebody says they're a huge KISS fan and say that's their favorite song?  I know they are not a KISS fan.

Hard to beat Detroit Rock City for me. And it all has to do with that bass riff.

You wanna hear something I don’t understand?  Queue up Reason to Live from 87.  It sounds like the best of what was out at the time.  That soaring rock ballad that cheeseballs like Richard Marx peddled for millions. I don’t get why that wasn’t something that broke big for them.  It sounds dated today, sure. But at that moment in time?

Video has a super hot girl in various stages of undress.   You’ve got Bruce Kulik humping a keyboard. Gene awkwardly glaring.  What else could you want?

As a sidebar in the same realm of conversation, what is everyone’s favorite guitar solo?

For the longest, Shadow on the Sun by Audioslave had mine, but now Weight of Dreams by Greta Van Fleet has taken top spot.
