Hoping it wasn’t spent in total misery. Merry Christmas, ya sickly bastid.
That's just it. I had been running like an exquisite time piece until I stumbled backwards off a ladder in a confined space onto the top of my foot. Still didn't miss any work in spite of the swelling and discomfort but this past Friday was different.
Went to work and by early afternoon it was like I had been steamrolled. Son had already been to the doctor and was told he had type A flu. He took a Covid test just to verify as neither of us have ever been innoculated. The "Covid" I did contract last year was nothing compared to this which I just call the old fashioned flu where the locations of the aches and pains from old wounds are accentuated like the time I had a wheelbarrow load of concrete block fall on me in a deep backfill area of a front porch (handle into the ribcage) Yeah I was helping a nephew out and working alone.
So you do fluids, sweat it out, eat if you're able and stay away from family. My energy level is at about 40% and even small chores are exhausting.
So in the immortal words of the great Chief Dan George:
Endeavor to Persevere...
maybe it was Lincoln's Secretary but you get the picture.
