They're gonna replace Thompson and before that, Hoover, as the new bought and paid for cutthroat "HS NIL" Program in the state.

What's happened at GS is everything wrong with youth sports. Just slimy.

I watched the game between Gulf Shores and Ramsay last night.  GS won the championship, but it was wayyy closer than it should have been. Up 21-6 at half, in the second half, they fumbled 3 times, had a punt blocked and missed a field goal from the 3 yard line that would have put the game away. That team has speed, speed, speed.

However, probably have this season vacated unless the allegations against them haven't been resolved.  Don't know the status of that, but the accusation is that a sporting goods company, Gulf Coast Athletics, was paying rent for families of athletes who had transferred in to the program. For whatever reason, the rent stopped, and GCA got sued for it.  If it's found to be even remotely true, the hammer will drop.

Unless someone is on the take at the AHSAA, they don't frick around with that stuff.
