Lake Effect Football
« on: November 17, 2022, 05:36:29 AM »
A friend told me to turn it on ESPN U last night and we had a little discussion about football in the elements from the 1960's and 70's, mostly from lake effect snows.

This particular game was Western Michigan at Central Michigan both having 4-7 records with only pride in play. The youthful Michiganer's had big fun making snowmen in the stands while the game stood 7-7 through the half. The Bronco's outlasted the Chippewa's in the second half for a 12-10 victory in a yawner.

My friend and I both agreed that the cold calculating, murdering OJ was the greatest snow runner in the history of the game, shoulder's above feet and flat-footed, he simply outran everyone else on the field with careful ease.

That's it. Go ahead and pick at an old guy for his fond memories of the game that was rather than the show trial that would be.

I especially liked the way he could leap over rows and rows of seats without ever breaking a sweat.

Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.

I barely remember OJ at USC.  I was little.

I do remember him gliding through the snow with the Bills, though.  The dude was killer!

No doubt...the guy could slice an opposing defense up with ease.

Looked like he was moving at a low speed, but then BAM! he'd buck like a white bronco.

Despite the cold and snow, he didn't even wear gloves.

My doctor told me I needed to stop masturbating.  I asked him why, and he said, "because I'm trying to examine you."

That guy was Gold, man.

He was great in Buffalo.  But when he went to the 49ers, it just didn't fit.

We should acquit him for that.

He killed as Nordberg though.

I hate he didn't get the part as Kato in the reboot of Green Hornet. He'd have murdered that role.

I would say he just didn't cut it in San Fran, no matter how you slice it
