Changes to NCAAF OT Rules
« on: April 23, 2021, 10:29:58 AM »
Teams will be required to run a 2-point conversion play after a touchdown when a game reaches a second overtime period. Previously, a 2-point attempt was required after the third overtime period. The rule was proposed last month.  "Also, if the game reaches a third overtime, teams will run alternating 2-point plays, instead of starting another drive at the opponent’s 25-yard line," the release read. "This is a change from the previous rule, which started to use 2-point plays in the fifth overtime period.
"This rules change is being made to limit the number of plays from scrimmage and bring the game to a quicker conclusion. Teams can still choose whether to kick the point after touchdown or run a 2-point conversion play during the first overtime period."

On the off-chance that the fairy tales ain't bunk
And Imma keep a bottle of that funk
To get motel parking lot, balcony crunk.

Reedonkulus.  Why do you want to limit the number of plays from scrimmage?  Oh yeah, "player safety".  Puhleeease.  And why do you change the way the game is played just because you went into overtime?

My doctor told me I needed to stop masturbating.  I asked him why, and he said, "because I'm trying to examine you."

The only time there should be OT is during the three College Football Playoff games. Otherwise, a tie game occurs. You want to wave the flag of safety for your "student athletes" and such? Then, accept that ties are part of competition. Plenty of numerical tie-breakers available they be needed. Don't like a tie? Play to win. Go for two in regulation. Go for it on 4th down instead of lining up a FG. In other words, stop coaching scared. Coach with balls!

Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.
