Andy Griffith has gone senile
« on: October 24, 2008, 01:30:58 AM »
I cannot believe the guy would bend over and SHIT on one of the few things I consider pure, good and 100% American.

DAMMIT TO HELL, THIS FUCKING THING WON'T LET ME PAST IN THE URL AND THE FUCKING SITE WHERE THE URL IS BLOCKS IT FROM PLAYING. If you give a shit and want to see what I'm talking about, go to Funny or die.com  and look it up.  Search for Ron Howard if it's not on the front page.

Fuck Andy. Fuck Opie. Fuck the Fonz.

Quote
Celebs go to great lengths for Obama
Sarah Palin, it's safe to say, has been dominating the "Saturday Night Live" airwaves. Tina Fey's impersonations are instant water-cooler fodder, and Palin's personal appearance boosted SNL to its highest ratings in 14 years. How can the Obama camp match that?

Luckily for Obama, some celebrities are taking extreme measures to show their support for him. It's no surprise to see celebrities lining up for the Democratic ticket, but these stars are going above and beyond the normal call of duty.

First up, we have director Ron Howard resurrecting not one, but two, classic roles that he admits he'd rather leave behind: Opie Taylor from "The Andy Griffith Show," and Richie Cunningham from "Happy Days".

"I've never done this before and I hope to never have to do it again," Howard admits, "but I guess you could say I'm feeling pretty desperate these days."

Howard brings his old TV pals Andy Griffith (Sheriff Andy Taylor) and Henry Winkler (the Fonz) along for the ride. Obama supporter or not, the chance to see the Fonz again, talking it up in front of a classic car, leather jacket and all, makes this video worth a look.

Another famous (perhaps infamous is a more fitting description) TV dad working hard for Obama: none other than Ed O'Neill, a.k.a., Al Bundy. O'Neill reprises his role as the loveable loser from "Married... with Children" in a recent Obama campaign ad. Forget about Joe the Plumber -- in this ad, it's all about "Al the Shoe Salesman."

Comedian Sarah Silverman, meanwhile, is trying to help Obama win an entire state. Her "Great Schlep" campaign encourages Jewish voters like her to "schlep over to Florida and convince your grandparents to vote Obama."

But star cred reportedly doesn't buy instant access to Team Obama. The Chicago Sun-Times, you may recall, reported last month on an offer from Lindsay Lohan to host a series of campaign events for Obama. The Obama campaign declined the offer, with a campaign source reportedly telling Sun-Times columnist Bill Zwecker that Lohan "is not exactly the kind of high-profile star who would be positive for us."

That video with Andy Griffith vexes me greatly.

As a fellow "Tarheel" hearing him supporting The Obama, even obliquely, is like hearing Billy Graham announce that he's a satanist.  Aunt B is probably spinning in her grave (God rest her soul).

And to think that I'd seriously considered changing my avatar to Sheriff Taylor...

I weep for America if little Opie Cunningham can do this to Sheriff Andy Taylor.
Poor Horatio.

Now I may be an idiot, but there is one thing I am not, sir, and that, sir, is an idiot.

In hindsight I suppose that this endorsement does not suprise me.  Hollywood-types and the Main Stream Media are nothing more than eunuchs in the Sultan Obama's harem.

I prefer to pretend Andy Griffith aburptly vanished circa '96... after releasing his hit Gospel album and coinciding infomercial which bombarded mid day television for years afterward.  God bless his senile heart.
