Not everyone on this board follows basketball. So if you tuned in and saw that game, you might think that was a normal group of players. It is not. Even without two if the supposedly best players, they still looked very dominate. Even down to the third options in most cases. Considering we only had 8 scholly players available last year at one point, it was nice to see what a full compliment of talented players could look like.

So yes. This may be the most talented group to EVER come through AU. It is not that obvious to the casual fan.

Don't kid yourself South Alabama is not a pushover team. That was a solid win.  I loved the absolute hustle even when we were up by 45+

That was a pretty thorough dismantling.

Wiley looked pretty rusty, but otherwise a pretty flawless performance.

No   Heron would have been the centerpiece of this team.  Most solid player we had at AU in 20 years.

100% agree. Heron always drove me nuts, and right now, Doughty is a much better piece of this team than Heron was.

Yes. Heron was very good but I always thought he and Bryce Brown went through spells where they were dueling often to the detriment of the team.

I like Doughty's overall game and fit with this team. No knock on Heron.
He's a great fit for St. Johns.

Oh, so you're saying having a 6'5" guard who was your leading scorer, leading FT shooter and 3rd highest rebounder back...and who has improved every year, including this one....

Yeah!  And BTW, St. Johns is not a small pond when it comes to basketball.
