Auburn's offense may be in store for some changes, at least according to some players who listened to coach Tommy Tuberville in the dressing room after Vanderbilt beat the Tigers 14-13 Saturday night.

Wide receiver Rod Smith said Tuberville said the changes could come as early as Sunday, but Smith said he didn't know what the changes would be. Auburn tried different things offensively against the Commodores with mixed results.

``I don't know what we are right now -- spread, old Auburn offense. I'm just really confused right now. Everybody is confused,'' Smith said. ``Everybody is hurting.''

When asked if the changes would be drastic, Smith said it would ``probably be drastic changes.''

``We need to get back to old Auburn football,'' he said.

Auburn, which looked so sharp in its first three series of the game, was held to just 84 yards in the final three quarters.

Tuberville said he apologized to his players after the game for not having them prepared.

Auburn played shorthanded on both offense and defense, but Tuberville did not use that as an excuse.

Tuberville also wouldn't talk about the fact Auburn lost, at least partially, because Wes Byrum missed an extra point.

``Let's not get on that. Next question,'' Tuberville said.

Besides, Tuberville said, it was the Auburn offense that did the Tigers in.

``When you have four yards rushing in the second half, you're not going to beat anybody,'' he said.

``We just need to find some answers on offense.''

After tonights game this new profile pic
just seemed appropriate.

In his first news conference as AUBURN'S head coach in 1981, Pat Dye was asked this question:  "How long will it take you to beat Alabama"?  To which he responded, "Oh, about 60 minutes".

I'm not sure Franklin's going to be around very long.   To hear our "best" senior receiver talk about how confused they are, there's SERIOUS problems.  No excuse for this.  None.  Zero.
