The HBO documentary, Running With Our Eyes Closed, is fan-fucking-tastic.  Sam Jones (who did the amazing I Am Trying To Break Your Heart, documenting Wilco's YHF recording and distribution farce) gets some deeply personal footage and you get some context for a lot of his lyrical work.  Great studio and archival concert footage (especially the DBT stuff) is icing on the cake.

If you're a fan (of Isbell or just music and songwriting) you'll dig the shit out of this.

Note: practically zero politics are addressed, it's much more personal than that.
