Er'body knows Malzahn and Briles Sr has been pals of late and er'body knows Stidham came to AU. The reports say that Lashlee is a big contributor to Stidham signing with AU. I wonder....

Well, the biggest question, regardless of who he hires, is will Malzahn turn the reigns over to him and let him do his thing?

In addition, Lashlee was a Gus protégé. The offense that CGM designed is what was going to be run (Sans the whirly-bird). If he hires Briles or Kelly or whoever, do we see a different offense or does he demand they learn his scheme and run it his way?

My take is that Malzahn realizes what he has to do to keep his job next year. I think they both realized what needed to happen also. Rhett needed to be released to be his own and Gus needed to quit being Rhetts football daddy.
