Good run of bad shit in a tough conference/division to be honest. It is what it is. Someone said before the season that the last place team in the West was probably still a solid team. I concur. No top heavy elite team to me but top to bottom, its just nasty. Arky is a solid team to me Bert aside. They did beat Tenn, who should probably be undefeated and have a win over Bammer and Oklahoma. I think we have a solid foundation of young guys. Muschamp is dealing with Chicken Shit in his front 7 aside from Lawson and sometimes Adams. The middle of the field is so soft as you saw yourself. Kentucky carved it up much worse than Allen to me.

The O seems to be more in gear now. 250+ yards passing and 150+ yards rushing after having 9 drops? Yeah, I would say the playcalling was ok.

Aside from LSU this year and UGA last year, every game was either winnable or they had the lead at some point so I think the 1-8 part is slightly misleading. Could easily have been 7-2. A&M, Bammer, MSU last year, and then MSU, Ark this year. Lot of difference in what we are seeing right now and 2012. We have a lot of gaps and/or youth on the field in critical spots. Thats where you will see turnovers and penalities. Comes with the territory.

I think your hogs are a better fundamental team than Ole Miss and Aggie. They were obviously better than Tennessee. The Toldeo thing was prob a fluke. Although they arent bad.  So yeah, my fellow fans will have to forgive me if Im not jumping off a roof or calling for the staff to be fired like a whiney brat. I see a lot of good and I see a lot of effort. Time is Auburn's friend at this point. They were not as good of a team as everyone thought....overrated, overhyped and we will just have to swallow that pill this year. I see a lot of good coming back next year and we will be in familiar spot which is the underdog, where we seem to thrive better.

All of this.

I also want DC relieved of his WR coaching duties.  I know he has aspirations of head coaching, but so far he's Trooper Taylor redux: great recruiter and player favorite, but zero to show for production/progress.

I love the dude, one of my all-time favorite AU players, but the fucking drops are killing us.

I find it interesting that I mentioned the WRs looked just like the "towel waiver's" WRs in a game thread.

I thought I might be the only one to notice.

I did follow it up with I think we need to recruit more true WRs, rather than great athletes.

Example would be the King kid. Not flashy, just ready for the ball.

And what is it with #87? Is that number reserved for the lone white WR?

I agree with everything that GH has said in this thread.

And to add, who would think that Auburn would be 4-3 with close winnable games to both MSU and Ark with:
1. No Jeremy Johnson
2. No Duke Williams
3. No Roc or Jovon RObinson to speak of
4. No Carl Lawson
5. Starting a freshman QB that was supposed to be a backup for the next two year

Now I am not saying that I stand by what this coaching staff does unconditionally, but damn...we are better off than we could be with that shit above happening this year.

After the first quarter, I was pissed. I was very close to turning the game off Auburn looked so fucking bad. But I stayed with it and I am glad I did. The kids are playing hard. Hell, if our SENIOR WR helps the little freshman QB at all Saturday, I think Auburn wins by two scores.

Well said.

And good way of putting it with the list. Gimme that list before the 1st game, and I would hand you back 3-9, maybe 4-8. This is NOT 08 or 12. Those were wheels coming off and program wide issues. This current season is more underachieving or moreso playing below expectations, which were way too high to begin with. It really feels like 2003 without the same win total.

I can't go with the DC move. I really think they gots the yips the Arky game. Ridropo Louis had been much improved this yr, IMO.

It was a mental thing. One of those freakey games. Melvin even dropped one and he has great hands.

Garner would be first on my list. With my sights set squarely on bringing Rock back home.

Lashlee aint exactly making me happy either. Anyone else notice Gus being in control of the O totally Saturday?

This.  Our D-Line has probably been the least effective unit since he got to AU. Well, right after the linebackers...who are right behind the DB's in #leasteffective

Secondary shows promise. Between Countess, Trigga, and Carlton - Im ok with them. Good enough to win. But that front 7...sheesh. Interior Line and MLB play is BADDDD.

I wouldn't go that far. Rico has never been a GOOD WR. he has been serviceable while making some downright cool passes. There is a reason why you only saw him get to run the sweep for a LONG time. I laughed last season whenever we threw him his first pass. If he caught it, he was gonna have a good game. If he dropped it, forget about throwing him the ball again. As much as i would love to see it, he just does not seem to be the go to guy. (none of this is on DC) That guy was supposed to be Duke, and he screwed us all.

You touched on it when you made a comment about the type of WR we recruit. It's time to start finding those guys that catch VD form watching a porno. Forget about blazing speed. You only need one blazing speed guy. The rest of them need to know how to sit down in space, and then CATCH the ball. We get to enamored with the athlete side and forget about the receiver side. You don't have to outrun everybody to be a good WR.

You scored 18 last week in the BFTC and you're actually going to come on here and try to tell us something about football? O.k. Thanks CCTAU. Appreciate the "insight". Will certainly keep that in mind.

Yeah but I was looking for any in that I could get for the 18 reference. That was more important than complimenting the porno thing.

If I could see one thing change about our D it would be to move Tre' inside and back him off a bit similarly to UT's #21. Kid's a missile! Not saying we get the same production but Tre' closes well and I think he could get 10-12 tackles per game while helping our secondary.
Ragland would struggle playing behind our interior.

Frost and McKinzy could boost their production by sharing time at Sam LB while still calling the sets.
