Now that you can pause live action on the tv, I dial up Rob and Stan and Q and Paul on the Dixie Crystal Sugar Scoreboard (that's what it will forever be to me) on the Auburn radio app.  I plug in my headphones, and synch the tv with the AU Network - the radio has about a 15-30 second delay.  I never listen to anyone but our boys call my Auburn games.

Couldn't do headphones.  Really hinders taking my AU cap off and slamming it to the floor Spurrier style so I can scream at the TV loud enough to let the refs know that guy was holding.

My doctor told me I needed to stop masturbating.  I asked him why, and he said, "because I'm trying to examine you."

or you could...i know this might be a stretch on your income but you could purchase a portable radio.  but that might be too complicated and expensive for you.

Snags had a bad experience the last time in his life that he used earmuffs. But they did make a movie about it.

Okay so only a few here actually know what is said during a televised Auburn game.
Interesting!

Some ratings:

1-5 points for Knowledge, Likability, Gravitas

Stephen A. Smith 0+1+0 = 1
He cemented his stupidity today by bitching about people talking about Jordan Speith because it was disrespectful to Tiger Woods.

Skip Bayless 2+1+1 = 4

Scott Van Pelt 4 + 4 +3 = 11

Chris Berman 3 + 3 + 4 = 10

Tom Jackson 5 + 4 + 4 = 13

Keyshawn 2 + 2 + 0 = 4

Rece 3 + 4 + 4 = 11

Herb 4 + 4 + 4 = 12

Kenny Mayne 3 +3 + 4 = 10

Holly Rowe 1 + 1 + 1 = 3

Erin Andrews 3 + 3 + 2 = 8

Vern 2 + 3 + 4 = 9

Dothraki Nomar (or whoever that guy on the SEC Network is...)  2 + 2  + 2 = 6

Ginger McElbraindamage  1 + 0 + 0 = 1

There are just too many to do.

So, if I understand your ratings correctly, you want to do Tom Jackson more than Skip Bayless? Can't argue with the 4 for Bayless but I don't want to do him at all. You really have a thing for Tom Jackson though, don't you?

How would you like to do Herbstreit? In the butt, I suppose.

Tom Jackson has probably forgotten more football than most on the list here. I like Van Pelt too but mainly for basketball.

Might be easier to grade them by network, team and then individually.
Anybody have the time or care to expend the energy? Didn't think so.

Van Pelt is a good one. Always forget him.

I met Van Pelt in Auburn, wearing an Auburn hat.  I like him.  He wasn't even working the game, was just there.  Very approachable, very cordial.  Very much like he appears on TV.

Others I've met:

Verne - Big tub of goofy goo.  Doesn't have the brain wattage of a pigeon.
Raita - Smarmy asshole
Gary Danielson - Sort of into himself.  Not a jerk, really, but just cardboard aloof.
Karle - Penis with enormous head.  Completely self-absorbed dickhole.
Scott Hunter - Dumber than a box of ironing boards
Dave Neal - Insufferable jackass
Brando - Blowhard, same as you'd expect
Finebaum - Biggest fuckstick I've ever met.  Very schizophrenic.  Truly thinks he is above the crowd.
Tracy Wolfson - Not nearly as attractive as you'd think.  Very short. Very small. Prima donna.

There are more, but i can't think of them right now.

Your lame attempts at humor aside, I think Tom Jackson is a thousand times smarter than Skip Bayless. I think Jackson knows his stuff and does research to make sure he does.  He's always well-prepared and what he says typically has meaning.  His delivery hurts him.  His voice isn't great and his facial expressions are difficult to watch sometimes.

I don't care for Bayless at all. He's a dumbass. He's dumber than that SMU Craig guy who got fired.

Obviously, I'll take Bramblett's call 1,000/1 over any other, but I was pulling up some wiki on everyone's favorite, Verne, and went to this.  Two things, like him or hate him, he's been involved in some historic calls over the years.  Huge calls.  And second, if you watch his call, just of the run back, he does what most great announcers do (Not arguing that Verne is "great") in a moment like that.  He called the play and them shut up. It was a moment that needed no commentary. Let the scene speak for itself. Fast forward to the kick/6.

Bramlett's very good, not great. He gets down on the team sports he covers worse than I do as a runofthe mill fan just by his negative voice inflection. But he is prepared in big moments, better than most and might even surpass Jim Fyffe for that one moment in time aspect just not overall for pure listening pleasure.

Jackson is a pure professional. He wears some distressed looks on his face that might not appeal to the masses plus he has to deal with jabbering longwinded dickheads all about him.

I believe he dated an AU grad for a time. Always been very cool about Auburn traditions, atmosphere, etc. Every account I've heard is similar to yours. Very nice dude.

OMG there was a bombing in a pub? Is everyone alright? I don't see how this is germane to the conversation.

BTW - video still gives me goosebumps.
