I'm still giddy this is done and hopefully gets a lot of pub today. We need recruits now.

And we need WM leading tackling drills and coaching coverage.

If you guys have learned anything in all of this, I hope that it's that when WT tells you something, you can take it to the bank boys.

Mixed feelings.

On the one hand I'm amazed and stoked that auburn is now the kind of program that can hit home runs of this magnitude. I think this hire has the potential to change our stars. I've always said that if we could mix half of Tuberville's defense with 2/3 of Malzahn's offense we would be untouchable. This is as close as we are going to get.

Also glad we will be out of johnsons 4-2-5-3 soft cover holland zone. Never liked his scheme.

But... Even the best DC's need bodies. Not sure we have enough of the right bodies. I believe we will see Williams become a dynamic force. But not sure we can scrape up enough to make the secondary work.

Also concerned about longevity. We need three years. Is he willing to give that?

Really wish we'd had him this year. We don't lose a game if he had been.

I get it and jive with you. But I think even one year is a good start and more importantly, gets us started with the bodies.

We will immediately get better defensive players.

Also, I think we get better fundamentals immediately.

I'm not a huge fan of how Will left but his coaching is good. Really good.

I honestly don't think he'll be a one and done or even a two and done.

Muschamp's offenses at Florida were horrendous. Absolutely horrendous. And you're right about the defense. It's not a quick fix. So why would any reputable program go after Muschamp after one year at Auburn? He couldn't win at Florida of all places.

He'll need to prove that his defenses are for sure top of the line, and then he'll need to prove that he's learned a lot about scoring from Gus Malzahn.

So two years at the least. I think three.

That was exactly what I thought as well. Also I have never heard anyone need to layout during a press conference when it would be ok to recruit a certain player. make me think there are ones that Boom will be flipping our direction.

I have never heard that either. They made it clear that this was in his contract during the presser and I have seen it quoted in some of the online stories about the hire. I never knew this was a stipulation until now.

We were def already recruiting Holland and Ivey, so I think that covers us for any potential issue there. I don't know of any other players where it looks like it could come down to AU/UF.

I didn't really think the lines about student housing was necessarily a dig at UF. I thought it was just being complimentary of AU.

I thought he did a good job in his presser and am glad that he was immediately going recruiting.

Yeah, he seemed king of gitty when I told the press his plans right after the press conference.

On a side note, it seems the addition of T Robinson as the DB coach is going to happen. Apparently he is lights out at recruiting also.
