Concerts (This Weekend Ruled)
« on: October 29, 2007, 07:18:43 PM »
So I left Thursday to head down to New Orleans for Voodoo Fest. I hate I missed the whole AUN meltdown, I'll have to catch up on what the hell went down this weekend.
Anyway, about the concert. It rocked my balls in half. I was right up front for pretty much every band, including Rage Against The Machine. Words cannot describe how much that show fucking ruled my ass. Then I got to meet half of them. Granted the less cool half, but the bass player and drummer were just walking around Bourbon Street (with about six plain clothes bodyguards), virtually unnoticed.
I've kept a running list of bands of note that I've seen live. They're not all awesome, but I probably saw the shitty ones at a festival type deal. Also, most of you are old and probably have no idea who a lot of these bands are. After this weekend (and anticipating next week when I go see Hank III, Reverend Horton Heat, and Nashville Pussy), my list looks like this.

Great list! Lots of good bands there.

I'm 32, so I'd say a LOT of the bands are right in my wheelhouse.  Went and saw some good bands up in Atlanta this past weekend.  Local talent mainly, but up and comers.  A few of them were signed and one is getting signed this Tuesday (my brother-in-law's band....sweet...).

Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall said, "Guys don't mind hitting Michael Vick in the open field, but when you see Cam, you have to think about how you're going to tackle him. He's like a big tight end coming at you."

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."
