So Gus is going to be switching to a pro style offense?
No. Queen is a pro-style QB that can move pretty good for his size and run the rock...
I'm not super excited about this. I've watched the kid. My kid played against him. Not a bad player, just not sure he is good enough to run the show at AU.
His dad is his coach and he started him as a freshman even though there were others that were a bit better and mature at the time. So I am not sure he isn't a product of the system. But I will reserve final judgement till after his senior year.
You realize Queen is a Junior...correct? Meaning he was a Sophmore last year in High School. Also, 2,600 yds passing & 23 TDs to go along with 940 yds rushing & 20 TDs, again as a Sophmore, is pretty damn impressive to a lot of D1 College recruiters.
And here's this...
"He's a big kid, big arm -- I think he weighed 236 at the Atlanta Rivals Camp, he may be 240-pounds now. He can still move for a guy his size, built to take a beating and keep going. He had nearly 1,000 yards rushing last year even thought he's a pro-style quarterback. He's not a statue back there and he's a good fit in Malzahn's offense. That will benefit him. he's got a strong arm, he can really zip it in there and also has good touch on deep balls. He can lay the ball out there deep, he's not just a fastball only guy."
Landing him this far ahead gives them a marquee guy already and the guys in Georgia for 2015, they will watch him and the Auburn coaches will lean on him to talk to the other prospects in his class." - Rivals.com Southeast Analyst Woody Womack
There's a 2015 RB to keep your eyes on Jacques Patrick...another fuckin stud.
