Telling Charter to pound sand
« on: May 23, 2013, 08:13:57 AM »
Well that's not completely true.  I am gonna keep their interwebs service but that is going to be the only thing.  Everything I watch I can get some other way.  Anyone else gone this route?  What were the unforeseen problems that cropped up?

Go.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

I've been hoping like hell that either Charter or AT&T would come into our area for years now.  Windstream sucks much badly and I've been really pissed off lately with Dish because our local channels keep popping in and out so much.

What kind of problems have you had with Charter?

You would think that it being cable, one would have a better signal coming in. This so far from the truth. I never had the problems I have had with Charter in my whole like; this includes OcrapCo in Oneonta back in the day.

Amen.  DirecTV has been nothing but awesome for me.

Genie. On Demand. On my phone. On my computer.

Dish Network (which I first had) was a steaming pile of dingle dung.

I made the mistake a few years back of switching from DirecTV to Dish to save about $15 a month and upgrade to HD/DVRs all over the house.  In retrospect, that extra $15 would have been well worth it.

Reading be paramount.

I'm discontinuing ALL television functions and only using cable interwebs.  I can watch everything I want to on internet and pipe it into my tv.

Gonna make my monthly cable bill be the amount of a decent bottle of bourbon.

Just no reason not to.   I sat down a couple of nights ago and listed everything I watch or like to watch and I can get it all through al gore's invention.

Gotcha.  I assumed something prompted the look.  I just wish I had more choices for teh innerweb pipes at my house.  It's either stick with the shitty Windstream "high speed" or go to satellite internet service.

I can do and have all of that (or equivalents) except watch from my computer and I'm not so sure that I can't do that.   I haven't tried it, but have been satisfied with Dish.

DirectTV can choke on a bag of goat aids infested dicks.  In 2009 me and a couple of neighbors wanted to watch the Ball State game which was on PPV while others were watching someone else play in the garage.  Called them up, told them the game I wanted and it never came on.  Finally after about an hour they got the game on.  It was nice to watch the last few minutes of the 2nd and the last half of the game.  Too bad I got charged full price for the game.  Called to bitch and was basically told tough shit, and shit happens.

Yea gonna talk to him when he gets back from catching aids in the islands.  I actually think I can do it without even going that route.

I have seriously been thinking about that, but I gotta get off Fred's innerweb .000005mb service first.

Any of you have the AT&T U-verse service?

Looked into that when my contract was up with DirecTV was up, The thought of being able to sit outside and watch football in the fall was kind of a big thing. U-verse service is based on zip code which I didn't fall into and to be exact I think you have to live in an AT&T store to get it, nobody I have talked to seems to fall into the area of operation.

That seems to be the same issue around here. Everything I have heard and read about seems to be very positive. It would be nice to see this expanded because it imo is the best out there when it comes to service outside of straight up full throttle all internet.

I get ABC, NBC and CBS.  And if the weather is good and the bunny ears are turned just right, I can get APT.  Although, I'm a little limited right now because the channel knob on my Magnavox Console broke off so I have to use some needle-nose pliers to change the channel.
