The guy is a moron.  "I have the second best one on one player in the league, one of the best point guards of all time, and a big man who is dominant but can't score outside of 10 feet.  Let's run the Princeton offense which bulls the big men out from the basket, makes the player's run back cuts and screens, and is designed to not highlight individual talents.  Brilliant!"

And now they hired D'Antonie...or however you spell it.

May not lead to a championship, but they are a lot better off than they were 5 days ago...

During the Auburn game, it kept flashing up that Phil Jackson had been hired.  What happened there?

They were in talks, but apparently couldn't come to a deal. D'Antonie signed a 3 year deal for $12M I think. I would imagine that Jackson probably wanted at least $8M...if not more...

That is purely speculation on my part though. I haven't read anything other than the headline...

I think the biggest problem is that Jackson didn't want to travel to away games.

SVP and Rusillo said today that the "official" reason Phil didn't get the gig was that his triangle offense didn't suit all the players' talents.
