3rd...

In a row...

Under the age of 23...

He is only the 3rd guy or so to do that in NBA history...

Durant is phenomenal, no doubt, but had Kobe played that last game Durant probably wouldn't have that 3rd title.

You were a 210 lb Offensive Guard?  Shit...

My coach called me Mighty Mouse.

It helped having a 300 pound, 3 year starting tackle next to me.

Steve Young was on the SVP show last week and said that, on his list of attributes a QB must have, arm strength is about #10.

Of course, Steve Young isn't drafting anyone, but his opinion should hold some weight.

Young was coached by Walsh too.  And his opinion is valid.

Fact is, it's simply easier, and better for job security, to have a guy that supposedly has all the tools, than a guy that's a project, or not a prototypical guy with all the tools.  It's easier to alibi a guy with all the tools "just not living up to expectations" than it is drafting a guy that puts you behind the 8 ball with the fans and ownership from the start.   Draft a guy like Moore, especially high, when everybody that supposedly knows says not to, and you fail, you not only "can't coach", but you're an idiot too.

Definitely harder in this media-overload age as well.   Instant results are the order of the day.  You can't develop anyone unless you have Favre tutoring him for 3 years.

I was about 190 and played tackle on O and end on D.  You need to head down to Lower Alabama and catch some 1A football in places like Sweetwater or Coffeeville.  Sometimes can barely tell the linemen from the backs if they don't have their jerseys on.

You meet a man on the Oregon Trail. He tells you his name is Terry. You laugh and tell him: "That's a girl's name!" Terry shoots you. You have died of dissin' Terry.

This is normally where I would start the AI comparisons and poke fun at Durant's FG % - but I can't. Because his is very good. He is damn near 50% for his career. So is Lebron. That's fantastic for the amount of points they score.

Kobe? Mid 40's. He scores a lot because he shoots a lot - i.e. Iverson.

Watched a little Thunder/Mavs last night.  They said the Thunder led the league in free throw percentage again this year, shooting over 80%.  May not be a sexy stat but free throw shooting seems to be a lost art for round hoops players these days.  If you're in the NBA...no excuse for not hitting 3 out of every 4 FT's.

So true.  We are AISA 1A...smaller than AHSAA.  In fact last year I lost one of my better Guards to the RB coach to play FB.  The kid that replaced him, who was also very good, is 5-8 197.  He is better on defense, and will not be playing OL unless we have some injuries.  This spring I have 3 guys competing for the starting Center spot.   They go 5-8 186, 5-6 160, and 5-4 211.  We can get away with a smaller Center due to what we ask him to do.  Our Gs actually can't be big hogmolly types because we pull them on most every play.  One starting G is 5-6 218.  He's a monster!  Strong as an ox.  The 5-4 211 kid will probably wind up being the other starting G, just not sure.  Those kids look funny when they line up with my tackles on each end that go 6-3 290, and 6-1 260.  Other kids competing for OL and DL playing time go 5-11 170, 5-8 222, 6-0 170, 5-8 190.  Most of our kids play both ways, some start both ways.  True, prototypical linemen are hard to come by.

Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall said, "Guys don't mind hitting Michael Vick in the open field, but when you see Cam, you have to think about how you're going to tackle him. He's like a big tight end coming at you."

Along the same lines as Durant (Not the same level, though)....anyone remember Auburn's Wesley "Stick" Person?  The guy was McCalebb frail but he had a nice 10 year career in the NBA.

You better believe things would have been different. I’d be making millions of dollars and living in a big mansion somewhere, soaking it up in a hot tub with my soul mate.
