Rubio Endorses Romney and other musings
« on: March 29, 2012, 02:37:29 PM »
Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), a favorite of the non-establishment Republicans...and a political favorite of mine to be frank, has endorsed Mitt Romney for president as of last night on 'Hannity'.  Part of me was a little surprised with this endorsement especially in that it comes on the proverbial heels of some establishment Republicans (former Florida Governor Jeb Bush and his dad former President George H. W. Bush) mainly because I don't see Rubio as an establishment-type!  He may be trying to jockey for the VP position without coming out and saying "I want to be VP".  But, when considering this possibility I had an ugly thought early this morning (which is not unusual) regarding a Romney nomination...and that is that he might pick a politically-vanilla person to be his running-mate this year.

One catalyst that made me think of this is the McCain/ Palin campaign of 2008; and I should preface this commentary by saying that I watched the HBO movie "Game Change" a few days ago.  McCain chose a very politically-charged (and politically polarizing) running mate in Palin.  The left and the MSM vilified her and I really don't doubt that the establishment thinks that she is what cost him the election as portrayed in the referenced film (when in reality it was McCain himself that cost the election along with the establishment for 'picking' him if I can be so bold).  This line-of-reasoning makes me consider that Romney will choose a running mate that is as white-bread, centrist, and vanilla as he likes to appear...somebody like Tim Pawlenty (who is the former Gov. of Minnesota).

And the Republicans will probably loose the election...again.

Sorry to sound so jaded this afternoon.

Ehhhh, it is what it is.

Do I like Romney 100%? No. But I am with him now at this point and I guess I endorse him as much as one can. I really think Obama is this much of a threat for 4 more years. With the Healthcare law most likely getting struck down, it gives Romney a little more leverage against him. The choice is either Romney or Obama. I am with Romney then.

Go ABO!!!  Anybody But Obama at this point...

And, I thought Rubio had better class.  Maybe, it's part of a potential appointment or nomination deal.

Paul Ryan endorses Romney. By the way, if Ryan ever runs for Prez, I'll vote for him.

Eh, he sees the bigger picture. Plus if he is selected as a VP pick, it makes people much more likely to vote Romney because Rubio is so likeable. As is Paul Ryan. I would like the Romney nomination much more so with Rubio on the ticket. I think this is exactly what Rubio is doing here.

That was some encouraging news today.  Paul Ryan is probably the smartest guy in the room on Capitol Hill.  He's a good man and I'd vote for him any day of the week.

I do hope you are right; wouldn't you enjoy a debate between Rubio and Joe Biden?  I'd pay twice the price of admission to see that.

Well, that would be hilarious, but do we think that Barry is actually going to keep Biden for another term?  Biden's left the reservation a number of times, and he's getting up there in age.  It's not like he would be ready to take the reins as a future candidate.  I've heard rumors that Barry needs someone else.

I've heard that political rumor circulating but I think that the arrogance of the Pharaoh's administration will not permit a change like that as it could be exploited as a failure.
