Preschooler’s Homemade Lunch Replaced with Cafeteria “Nuggets”
State agent inspects sack lunches, forces preschoolers to purchase cafeteria food instead

By Sara Burrows
Feb. 14th, 2012

RAEFORD - A preschooler at West Hoke Elementary School ate three chicken nuggets for lunch Jan. 30 because a state employee told her the lunch her mother packed was not nutritious.

The girl's turkey and cheese sandwich, banana, potato chips, and apple juice did not meet U.S. Department of Agriculture guidelines, according to the interpretation of the agent who was inspecting all lunch boxes in her More at Four classroom that day.

The Division of Child Development and Early Education at the Department of Health and Human Services requires all lunches served in pre-kindergarten programs - including in-home day care centers - to meet USDA guidelines. That means lunches must consist of one serving of meat, one serving of milk, one serving of grain, and two servings of fruit or vegetables, even if the lunches are brought from home.

When home-packed lunches do not include all of the required items, child care providers must supplement them with the missing ones.

The girl's mother - who said she wishes to remain anonymous to protect her daughter from retaliation - said she received a note from the school stating that students who did not bring a "healthy lunch" would be offered the missing portions, which could result in a fee from the cafeteria, in her case $1.25.

"I don't feel that I should pay for a cafeteria lunch when I provide lunch for her from home," the mother wrote in a complaint to her state representative, Republican G.L. Pridgen of Robeson County....

What is going to happen is this........they are going to fuck up, force the kid to eat something from the cafeteria they are allergic to and then there will be hell to pay..............well there won't, but there should be.

Scratch that, the gov't has no business telling me or my child what we can or cannot eat.

And I'm willing to bet the chicken nugget manufacturer receives some form of subsidy from the government.

So the government:

- Defines what it means to fail or succeed
- Controls what information is taught
- Manipulates the way a teacher presents information
- Dictates what food is to be eaten
- In some (and increasing) cases, instructs students to wear uniforms

It's 1984, Brave New World, and Fahrenheit 451 all at the same time.

Probably more to the story.

But this type of shit does happen, which I think is wrong.

I was wondering the same thing.

Well, as THS alluded to I think, obviously the Mechanically Separated and Reconstituted Chicken Nugget Manufacturer's Lobby gave more to the Pharaoh's Administration (and his campaign) than the Turkey and Cheese Sammich, Nanner, Tater Chips, and Appa Juice Lobby did.  Therefore, the Pharaoh's Administration promotes Chicken Nuggets as being better for your kids.  And if you don't believe them Queen Nefertiti Obama will say mean things about you in front of the chirrenz as the MSM broadcasts it on ABCBSMSNBCNN.

And that's how the little chirrenz get to eat the Pharaoh's scraps.

Frankfort school cafeteria gets visit from USDA official

Audrey Rowe is visiting schools all over the nation.

“Everything we can do.. to make food taste good,” Rowe told students at Elkhorn Middle School in Frankfort on Wednesday.

The USDA official from Washington, DC got a first-hand look…and taste of school lunches in Kentucky.

“I think we can make it to where one day you’ll say ‘that lady was here and I like this food now.’ That’s what I’m working on,” she said.

Taylor Boggs ate lunch with Rowe, who’s worked directly with President Obama on school lunch legislation.

“She really listened to what I said about the food,” said Boggs, an 8th grader at Elkhorn .

“Usually for students, if they don’t have a good lunch, sometime around mid-afternoon, they get sluggish, start having issues,” said Rowe, who says she visited the school in-between several meetings with officials in Kentucky.

Rowe says the bottom line is that school lunches today are going to be a lot different next year.

8th graders say their meals are pretty good, but some days….

“It’s really greasy…and not fresh,” said Boggs.

Rowe says some districts have brought in chefs in to make changes.

“A few weeks ago Rachel Ray made lunch in one of the schools I was in, she made turkey tacos,” she said.

Elkhorn Middle School was given the thumbs up for already serving fat free milk and whole grain buns.

“I’m really pleased with what I see here in Kentucky. Other school districts are not as far along,” Rowe said.

Rowe says the new laws will not just change what is served in cafeterias, but what is allowed in vending machines and other areas of the school.

Rachel Ray turkey tacos?

Not healthy.

Whole grain buns?

Not really healthy.

Until they start advocating that kids eat mostly vegetables and lean protein and little amounts of sugar, it's all a sham.

Thats pretty much what defines his policy.

Auto Union (UAW) Campaign Donations = Auto Bailouts.

Prescription Drug Company Lobbying = shame on Cheerios and Vitamin C....what ya need is some narcotics and head medicine, they'll cure ya. Although to be fair, Bush also fell victim to this one as well with the Scription Drug Plan (supported by Santorum)

Environmental Lobbying = No Keystone pipeline, Green Energy Initatives (Solyndra, Chevy Volt), restrict off shore drilling.

Gay Lobbying = DADT repealed.

In short, if you hooked him up ($ or votes), he'll hook you up.
