Part II:
On the Baumhower show on WNSP last night they discussed coaching changes.
"Malzahn going to Arkansas State? Wow. That's a shocker. Why would you leave Auburn and cut your pay by more than half to take a job at a place like Arkansas State. Unbelievable. Something's fishy there. No question something's seriously wrong at Auburn. "
And...
"McElweiner to Colorado State? Fantastic move. Going to a program with a tradition of success that he can build on. Colorado State makes perfect sense. It's a smaller program than Alabama, of course, but McElweiner is going home. That's his home. Perfect opportunity to return home and keep building that program."
Yeah. That's how it is.
Colorado State has a great tradition of success. Last five years 3-9, 3-9, 7-6, 3-9, 4-8. (By comparison, Arkansas State's five year record is not that much better, but at least they had a 10-win season this year).
McElweiner is "home." He was born in Montana and coached at Montana State, Eastern Washington, Fresno, Oakland, Louisville, Michigan State and Alabama. Colorado is CLEARLY his home. I'm from New Mexico. I was in an airport there once. (By comparison, Malzahn has coached outside of the state of Arkansas for a grand total of five years in his coaching career. He played college football in Arkansas.)
I wanted to climb through the radio and punch both of the motherfuckers in the face. I contemplated driving to the restaurant where the broadcast was being held and heckling them until I was arrested.
