If Alabama had played in the SEC Championship Game, Trent Richardson could have added to his rushing and touchdown totals and finished with a better Heisman Trophy resume, Heismanpundit.com publisher Chris Huston says. More importantly, Richardson would have made a strong last impression with voters two days before the voting deadline. (The Birmingham News/Mark Almond)
TUSCALOOSA, Alabama - Trent Richardson won't win the Heisman Trophy because Alabama didn't win a month ago in the Game of the Century.

That's the opinion of Chris Huston, the publisher of Heismanpundit.com and a respected Heisman historian.
Never mind that the second-ranked Crimson Tide (11-1) is getting a rematch with LSU (13-0) in the BCS Championship Game.
A 9-6 overtime loss on Nov. 5 cost Alabama a shot at the Southeastern Conference championship.
It cost Richardson an extra game.
Instead, LSU played Georgia on Saturday in the SEC Championship Game. The Tigers won 42-10, Tyrann Mathieu earned a trip to New York as a Heisman finalist, and Richardson sat while two other Heisman finalists - Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III and Wisconsin running back Montee Ball - made strong last impressions on voters.
"If he had played Saturday in the SEC Championship Game, he probably would have won (the Heisman)," Huston said of Richardson.
"If he had had a big game against Georgia, like 150 yards (rushing), he would've gone over 1,700 yards rushing."
Instead, Richardson finished the regular season with 1,583 rushing yards. He scored 23 touchdowns.
"Voters weren't blown away," Huston said.
Impressive performances by Ball and Mathieu on Saturday hurt Richardson, Huston said. Ball finished with 1,749 yards rushing and scored 38 touchdowns.
"Ball's numbers are better," Huston said. "His emergence created confusion."
Not enough for Ball to win the trophy, Huston said, but enough to take votes away from Richardson.
Five finalists will go this week to New York, where the Heisman will be awarded Saturday night: Richardson, Griffin, Ball, Mathieu and Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck.
"I'd be shocked if Richardson didn't get third," Huston said. "He's solidly behind Griffin and Luck, and he's solidly ahead of the others."
In the final Heismanpundit.com poll of the season, 13 voters picked Griffin and Luck first and second, respectively. Richardson finished third.
That panel correctly has forecast the past four Heisman Trophy winners and has come close to nailing the top five players in order each time.
Richardson led the Heismanpundit.com poll the previous week following a 203-yard rushing performance in a 42-14 victory at Auburn.
Stiffarmtrophy.com is tracking the actual voting and will continue to do so all week. The early results show Griffin, Luck and Richardson running 1-2-3.

Where in the article does it say for certain, Truck "would" have won it?  I see a "probably" in there... But no definite statement as the headline suggests. Between Kausler and Izzy, it's amazing that any Bama fuck EVER turns their eyes at Philip Marshall for being a little slanted.

Hmmm, I wonder if the roles were reversed, what would Evan Woodbammer have written? Don should've used quotaions when he wrote "expert" says.

One guy. A guy that runs a Heisman website. A guy that lists past winners and their stats. Yup, he's an expert. Why? Because he makes the bammers feel better about possibly losing out on another Heisman, they'll claim it 20 years from now, regardless what the records actually show. Then they'll claim that they're RBU and always have been, they'll brainwash their kids and the kids will do the same when they're old enough to have kids. SSDD.

Well, his defense, the "the experts", even though it was only one "expert", was a head guy from Heismanpundit.com.  That's fine, however, he completely toolbags the quotes to manipulate it into bullshit the bammer hoard could handle.

...and people wonder why Bama is so misinformed half the time?  Because even their fucking information ministry is full of shit.
