OPELIKA, Alabama -- The four former Auburn football players accused of armed robbery now have trial dates set for March, according to online court records and Lee County District Attorney Robbie Treese.

Treese told the Opelika-Auburn News that defendants Antonio Goodwin, Shaun Kitchens Mike McNeil and Dakota Mosley would be set for trial on March 5.

They were previously scheduled for the court docket beginning Oct. 31.

A judge will hear motions in McNeil's case tomorrow.

Three of the four players were denied youthful offender status in the case. McNeil was too old to apply for the designation, but he is challenging the constitutionality of Alabama's youthful offender law.

Goodwin and Mosley are currently playing junior college football in Arizona and California, respectively. McNeil unsuccessfully attempted to enroll at a school in North Carolina.

The four ex-players were indicted in May on five counts of first-degree robbery, one count of first-degree burglary and one count of third-degree theft of property. Mosley also faces a misdemeanor count of conspiracy to hinder business.

They are accused of robbing residents of a trailer home March 11 near Auburn's campus. Auburn coach Gene Chizik immediately dismissed the players after their arrest.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

Someone help me out.  They're playing football in Arizona and California.  Could that be an attempt to show good behavior prior to sentencing?  Or are they just playing football for fun before they go to prison?

A veteran is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America ' for an amount of 'up to and including my life.' That is Honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it.'

I would say yes, getting back in school, and/or showing that you're working would be just that.  If it's all true that this was a drug dealer they robbed, these types of cases sometimes wind up pleading down big time, or with the victim deciding he doesn't want to cooperate.   What role each played, if they (the individual was or wasn't armed) factors in.  Legally they're all equally responsible, but in reality, If one had a gun and put it to the victim's head, another stayed outside as a lookout, and another was just the driver...they are often given different sentences.

Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.

They're staying out there, hoping no one will care enough to come get them.
