The glaring disconnect: one minute Hulk wants to kill the luscious ScarJo and the next he's a team player.  Falling from the sky knocked some sense into him?

I took it that he wanted to scare her at first, then was wondering the same.  Maybe a teaser for the sequel?

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

I'm not really a comic book afficionado, but from what I've heard and read, isn't The Hulk supposed to be an uncontrollable, unstoppable force?

He shouldn't be a team player.

Then you've missed some good stuff.  Some of the comic series are better than anything on the shelves that pretend to be "literature"

I was a Marvel nut.  Read and re-read all of them 100 times.  My buddy was a DC guy.  Never could get on board with the Batman, Tarzan etc. line.

Speaking of comics, I used to love a series called Sad Sack.  Similar to Beetle Bailey but in comic book form.  The author was George Baker who started the Sad Sack series when he went in the Army in 1941.

Yep.  Sad Sack was good.

As a child I also liked Kamandi (Marvel), Plop (no idea), and Detective (Batman).  Went every two weeks to the drugstore hoping there was something new on the big spinning comic rack.

When I got older Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns graphic novel got me back into the comics a bit.  That and The Killing Joke (another GN) were very different and done well.  Went back and found/bought most of the Batman, Detective, Dark Knight comics from about 1970 until 1990.  There were a few I couldn't find/afford.  And then there were also some graphic novels that I added to the collection.

Then there was a kid and diapers were a better use of paper so that just fell away.  All those books are sealed and stored.  Probably worth about $8 now.

iirc The Hulk is still an uncontrollable force and he's asked to leave The Avengers not long after it was first formed, Spiderman is brought in around that same time.
