I know a lot of jokes will be made about Davis's last years, but the man did a lot for the game of football.

Peace out, crazy old man.

Maybe now the Raiders can draft some players.

Only NFL team I cared about (until Camolina this year).

I was a Raider.  I was a Raider before Dre, NWA and Cube made it cool.  Was a Raider before Bo was a Raider.

I was a Raider in spite of drunk Kenny.  I was a Raider because of The Stork, Sticky Hayes, Biletnikoff, Howie, Upshaw, Casper, Haynes, Marcus Allen, Tim Brown (despite where both of them went to school). Plunkett, Van Eeghen, Alzado, Branch, Tatum, Matooz, Christensen.

They were bad ass.  Old people hated them.

Al Davis was the man.  The Hugh Hefner of the NFL.

Just rest, baby.

BTW, this stuff comes in threes.  Two industry titans down.  Can we get a dead pool going?

Jobs, Davis...........and.........

Everybody pledge $20 and pick a winner.  Or loser, actually.

A veteran is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America ' for an amount of 'up to and including my life.' That is Honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it.'

Forgot Ray.  And also 65-year old Blanda.  Liked him too.   Haven't been a Raider for a lot of years.  I sort of drifted away in the 90s as they got more and more bizarre.  Quit caring about the NFL as a whole.

Finebaum isn't an industry titan.  He's a big-eared freak.

Loves the raiders as a kid. Always loved it when the brought old Pete Banazack in for short yardage. I'm not sure I ever remember him NOT getting the first down.

Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.
