Not guilty, not guilty, not guilty, not guilty...

http://blog.al.com/live/2011/08/list_of_charges_against_each_d.html

Bingo trial rains not guilty verdicts.

 :haha:

While I'm reading that and snickering, I get an email from my accountant.  Long story short, I'm going to be assessed some unknown amount by the State of Alabama.

Quote
MONTGOMERY- Alabama Department of Industrial Relations Director Tom Surtees announced today that a letter is being sent to employers statewide informing them of a 0.07% unemployment compensation tax assessment of the employer’s 2010 taxable wages to repay interest owed to the U.S. Treasury. The letters will be mailed on August 10, 2011 with the assessment payment due September 9, 2011.

No taxation without representation?  I know that doesn't apply but how about no taxation without at least fucking DISCUSSING it?  Fuck.  So in September, I'll have an unanticipated expense of some random amount and I'm obligated to pay.

Bullshit.

Goshdarnit and here I was expecting the hammer to drop on Auburn what with all the tapes the FBI had. Cam and the players getting untraceable atm cards to victoryland. Milton paying players, you name it. Bama fans told me the hammer was coming on this. I'm disappointed.

Ok, so I have obviously not been following this from TX - but weren't there wire taps and audio recordings that had these people dead to rights?  Or is this an OJ verdict?  Is this shock and drama or just another example of how inept the USDOJ really is?

Here's what's almost comical.  Country Crossings down here in Dothan is what got all this crap started a while back.  Ronnie Gilley, an Enterprise business man got the ball rolling and got backing from huge names in both country music and sports.  As a matter of fact, several NFL players were found to have invested in it.  Well, our former fearless hypocrite leader, Under-the table-Riley, moves to shut Country Crossings down....all the while Milty and all the Indian Casinos plus seberal others continued to run..as they had for years.  This was big stuff down here for a while and one day in the wee hours of the morning, Riley and his "task force" send over 100 State Troopers and other law types to raid the place.  What the hell was it, the Alamo?

Anyway, during all this time, this whole investigation is going on and wire taps are all over the place, money is changing hands and indictments eventually come down on some very prominent people across the State.  Long story short, Ronnie Gilley, who was arrested based on the testimony of a lobbyist named Jarrod Massey (who admitted to bribing many of these defendants) decides to roll over in exchange for his testimony against everyone.  He testified...they all walk...he goes to prison.  Federal Pound You In The Ass Prison.

Ronnie Gilley?  As in the guy that used to put on BamaJam Music Festival in Enterprise until he got in trouble?
