So let me get this straight.  Idol hires rock star Steven Tyler and pop singer Jennifer Lopez.  Then Idol is able to convince Steven Tyler to release a pop single. 

The two finalist were in the country genre.  The winner was a throwback country singer who apparently was singing the likes of George Straight, Garth Brooks and Randy Travis?

I'm going out on a limb and saying the producers of American Idol has no clue as to who their audience apparently is.
