Sums it well.

When liberals will figure out that half assing military operations and kumbaya'ing it up with the enemy does not work, is beyond me.

That dumb fuck.

The thing that amazes me is that Gadhafi learned nothing the first time around when he got himself in a sling with the US. The guy is truly a dumbass that he learned nothing from this or from Sadamn Insain.

Its interesting though that these stupid fucks only test the waters when a Dem is in the WH.

Reagan scared his ass into 20 years of silence. These loons know who is a pushover and who isn't. You think this is a coincidence? As you said, they know he's a pacifist hippie and they take advantage.

Yep.  They threw up the Line of Death, and Reagan promptly put his boot up Libya's ass.

Question here.  Why do we need to do anything?  Why would the U.S.of A. do anything militarily (Other than assisting our folks out of there) without the U.N.?  Okay, the U.N. may be slow to act or a collection of big vageenas...but why would we send planes, ships, troops to Libya?  Are we trying to police the world again?  Do we have oil interests in Libya?  Do they export the very best widgets in the world?

This is not our country.  We don't own Libya or Egypt or anyone else.  I know I sound like a 60's, flower power hippie-freak, but damn.  Why is it the USA always getting involved in everyone else's shit?

I agree with that, the objection I have is the one voiced by the people above.  If you are going to do something, then DO SOMETHING!  Don't rattle the saber.  Either use it, or leave it above the mantle.  Showing force just leaves you in a no win situation.  Other Middle Eastern countries are pissed with our interference, the freedom fighters are pissed because we did nothing to aid them.

I agree with you.

And for God's sake, could we please stop borrowing money from China, only to turn around and give economic aid to other countries.  That pisses me off more than anything else our government does.

At times I wish we would close everything down and bring everyone home, shutdown our borders, manufacture what we need, get our own oil from the oil shale in Co, UT, and WY, and tell the rest of the world to kiss off........I know it can't and won't happen in today's world, but a guy can dream can't he?

Can't say it is a bad idea.  We could take bets on which would happen first North Korea backed by China taking on South Korea or Iran getting their head handed to them after trying to attack Israel followed by escalation of World War 3 in the middle east.

It worked so well this way for so long. Of course most liberals and fdr worshippers will try to use the "isolationist policies like smoot hawley brought about the great depression" line of crap. I am for non intervention when at all possible. My problem is wanting to either half ass it or think you can just "talk everything out" with the bad guys. That's a fantasyland mentality. I also don't mind intervention when the united states has a huge vested financial interest. We gotta look out for number 1.

Welcome to the Isolationist World Haters Club!

In the aftermath of 9/11, every "expert" under sun was interviewed by every media outlet under the sun.  One guy had written a book about the U.S.A.'s presence around the world and in his interview, he was very candid about how we shouldn't be surprised by this given the fact that we seem to be the one country trying to assert our influence on everyone else.  We have military bases in countries all over the world and I think it's safe to say that we're not the most well liked nation in the world.  The guy said what he said at the wrong time given how high emotions were running and the host of that particular show, ripped him a new one.  However, even though I understand it's not that simple, part of me understood where he was coming from.  Certainly not trying to make any justifications for the 9/11 attacks.  Not at all.  But the "Should we really be surprised" part...I get.  These people do NOT think like us nor do they have 1/10th of the same values we do....and we're constantly all up in their business, usually in the interest of the almighty oil...if the truth be known.  Speaking strictly of the Middle East here.  South Korea may be a different ball game and interests altogether.

I would think that, by now, we would learn that there is no "talking it out" with anybody in the middle east or other Arabic countries. When is the last time that has really ever worked out for us? To that end, it is pointless to make threats and rattle the saber. I'm with you. Either keep your mouth shut and don't stick your nose where it doesn't belong, or just go in there and fuck them up. The world doesn't give a shit what the US thinks nowadays. They don't need our input. Unless we're going to do something, there is no reason to throw out some sort of rhetoric on the situation.

Sounds like something Ron Paul would have said. But I don't agree with the basis of it. The Arabs have been pissed off at the rest of mankind and the western world since they've existed. Mohammed knew how to incite a revolution against Jews.and other 'infidels'. The u.s. has only been a factor in Arab relations recently. What was their excuse before then? They aren't pissed that were over as the sole reason that they are pissed. They truly don't like us. We are infidels, Jew lovers, freedom lovers, etc. - we are the antithesis of everything they stand for. That's how they view us. The intervention excuse is just that....an excuse.

It's kind of like the man made global warming theory.  What is their excuse for it occurring before man industrialized? Nada....

I should also point out that in 2003 (when the Evil George W. Bush was president) Libya began the process of completely dismantling it's WMD and nuclear weapons which were shipped to the United States and Canada in 2004.  (Hmmm, what else happened in 2003...the attack on Iraq...Israeli bombers destroy a nuclear facility in Syria...and Saddam Hussein is captured alive...the latter just days before Libya decides to disarm...)

Exactly. These Muslim antagonist like to poke and prod to see the where one stands. Some of our Prez though, well...there is just no need to because they know right off the bat their ass will get a foot planted in it...deep. Gadhafi is a joke. I don't really expect the US getting involved here but, if we do, I don't it will take much more than a warship across the Atlantic to tighten his ass up.
