Well, when I think zombies I instinctively think "Shaun of the Dead"...and "Zombieland", of course.

But since you bought up apocalyptic thrillers I'll throw two out there..."The Road" and "The Book of Eli".  There were no zombies but the feral humans in "The Road" who resorted to hunting, killing, and eating other humans come close.  Both of these movies have sophisticated, engaging plots and exceptional, intriguing, lively, and provocative characters from the start...without having to sit through hours of irrelevant, emotional garbage.
You could have tried...

I highly recommend these two movies by the way but don't expect any happiness and light with "The Road" if you watch it.

I just have one small point to make....

People...in real life? A bunch of fucking whiners. Someone is alwasy bitching about doing things this way. or why not fucking my way, and what about this, that, and so on. I think the character devolpment, as tedious and aimed at those will watch anything broads as it might be, is real. Anyone that does step up is damned no matter what they do. Leave Sophia? You're a heartless sonofabitch. Stay on the farm and look for her? Wasting time even though there is NO WHERE to fucking go. While the farm thing may be boring, I think it's human nature to want a little respite and safety after constantly being on edge.

As much as I like Rick, Darryl is the real bad motherfucker if you ask me.

I would kiss you on the lips if the guys on here wouldn't enjoy it so much.

And you are right about Daryl.  But he has always been a BAMF - he was raised by wolves and had no choice.  He is actually becomming less feral and that's cool - he is all pissy now because he let himself be convinved he would find Sophia and he didn't - now he is angry and hurt.

I am enjoying watching Rick make the transition.  He has gone from Rule of Law and always doing the right thing to having to do the "right now" thing.  The old rules don't apply and the bar scene really brought that home to him.  The look on his face when he shot Tony was AWESOME.  The unmaking of a good man...

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

^This too. I am like Gman though and hoping that some of this touchy feely shit is done with but I do think that some of the set-up of persona's is needed to get the full effect of Rick becoming more of a bad ass. He needs to slap his bitch and get her in line.

I just want to see Glenn go Old Testament on Maggie's ass.  And I want someone to shoot Dale in the head.
Otherwise, I like the story line so far in the second half of season two.

Maggie needs to be introduced to a stair stepper and treadmill.  She's a little wiiiiiiiddddeee.  And, I held out some hope for Dale.  He should have been more of a bad ass old-timer keeping the two twirps, Rick and Shane, more in line.  Just another disappointment...
