Take car. Go to Mum's. Kill Phil - "Sorry." - grab Liz, go to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint, and wait for all of this to blow over. How's that for a slice of fried gold?

Now that was a heckuva zombie movie.  Shaun, Liz, and Ed had their priorities right in the zombie apocalypse.

Shaun of the Dead...  Really?  Try virtually any other apocalyptic thriller.  These writers have merely bought into the relationships and emotions trend of lamestream prime time television for the sole reason of appealing to a broader audience.  The fact is, they're losing a lot of us along the way.  Us being those who tend to be more rational, logical and intelligent than the feelings and emotions crowd.
...

Well, when I think zombies I instinctively think "Shaun of the Dead"...and "Zombieland", of course.

But since you bought up apocalyptic thrillers I'll throw two out there..."The Road" and "The Book of Eli".  There were no zombies but the feral humans in "The Road" who resorted to hunting, killing, and eating other humans come close.  Both of these movies have sophisticated, engaging plots and exceptional, intriguing, lively, and provocative characters from the start...without having to sit through hours of irrelevant, emotional garbage.

I highly recommend these two movies by the way but don't expect any happiness and light with "The Road" if you watch it.

The Road's unrelenting grimness bored the pumpkin stew out of me.  Dismal, dreary, hopeless.  It was like sitting in a window and watching it rain for three hours.

So let me get this straight, you like The Road and The Book of Eli...but you think that The Walking Dead is boring nonsensical drama.

Right, watching the Road was mind numbingly boring and on par with a lobotomy.  The Book of Eli was predictable and should have been named "The Miracle Worker 2."

The book of Eli was ok for what it was.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions; if you like the weepy, emotional drama in The Walking Dead you're welcome to enjoy it with your herbal tea.

I am commenting specifically on the seemingly endless character development/ evolution and relational/emotional tangents in "The Walking Dead" which are in my opinion (And I think I stated that too, didn't I?) boring as hell.  Take that rubbish out and you'd have an interesting series.

So you liked "Shaun of the Dead"?  You didn't criticize that movie choice.

I just have one small point to make....

People...in real life? A bunch of fucking whiners. Someone is alwasy bitching about doing things this way. or why not fucking my way, and what about this, that, and so on. I think the character devolpment, as tedious and aimed at those will watch anything broads as it might be, is real. Anyone that does step up is damned no matter what they do. Leave Sophia? You're a heartless sonofabitch. Stay on the farm and look for her? Wasting time even though there is NO WHERE to fucking go. While the farm thing may be boring, I think it's human nature to want a little respite and safety after constantly being on edge.

As much as I like Rick, Darryl is the real bad motherfucker if you ask me.

Being a sci-fi fan and someone who appreciates Simon Pegg's humor you'd think I'd have seen that one but no I have not.  I'll have to defer to AWK.
