Dont even try to compare Pet Sematary to The Walking Dead...

Is that what I was watching?  Just came on it flipping channels.  Still not watching it.

After movies like the first Halloween and Friday the 13th, "horror" flicks stopped being about suspense and simply tried to out-gore each other.  Even though those type movies were about psycho killers, they still didn't focus on seeing if they could show legs and arms being hacked off and how much blood they could show.

This is actually where there is a primary difference in this show and most others.  There has been very little if any gratuitous zombies.  In fact that has been one big complaint I have heard from the zombie fan nation is that there has not been enough zombies and zombie death.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

I'm thinking the whole deal with Lori and her sandy vagina you wouldn't have this particular view.

I was thinking about that particular scene where Glenn and Rick decide to go into town and look for the Doc and while on the way Glenn decides he wants to explore his feelings for Maggie, yada yada yada...and then you've got Rick and Lori fretting over the pregnancy and now she's been in a tragic car accident and she still has to resolve her feelings toward Shane who's fallen into the deep end...and you've got Doc Herschel falling off the wagon...and you've got Beth having a nervous breakdown with a fever when she never really got to grieve for her mother because her father, the Doc, had this delusion that her mother could be cured...and you've got Carol and Darryl's 'relationship'...and maybe Carol and Shane's relationship...it was like watching an episode of "Dallas"...with a few zombies.

It's the effing zombie apocalypse...they need to be constantly on the move...find out where that helicopter came from and was going to (in episode 2)...keep gathering food, water, clothing, ammo, guns, fuel, medicine...

And it does not take 14 hours to develop characters.

There.  I said that too.

Tarheels rant brings something to mind. Why in the hell did Lori decide to go after Rick? Serves the dumb bitch right. She should have stayed at the farm where she belongs.

More damn bitch-super-drama.  Calm the eff down and give Beth an anti-biotic (we know that Darryl has some) or a Tylenol and put a cool towel on her head.  Let her grieve for her mother.

But, no, that won't do, instead she has to go tearing-off after Rick in an emotional tizzy...ridiculous...and pointless.

Not to mention, she is looking at a map while she is driving and she swerves to miss one single zombie and ends up flipping her ride. Clearly this is a stereotype of women. They can't drive worth shit and have not a damn clue where they're going.

You are just assuming that she is in shock.  Who says she didn't get scratched by her mother?

As far as Lori is concerned seems to me that she is pretty well in character for a woman.  Oh snap.

Exactly.

It does have it's moments of zombie apocalypse reality if I can call it that but I've had just about enough of the emotional drama.  The only thing worth exploring emotionally on this glorified daytime story in my opinion is the cold, harsh view of Shane and Andrea living in a world turned to shit or the moralistic view of Dale and Rick in spite of a world turned to shit.  Now that's interesting...along with fighting zombies...everything else is Lifetime Movie Channel material suitable for watching while wearing footy-jammies and fuzzy slippers and drinking herbal tea.

I'm thinking Beth got the fever and Doc will be forced to shoot her ass. Also, I'm thinking that Shane will be the one to rescue Lori because Rick is off killing mofos, thus causing a rift between hubby and wife.

You all are probably going to take me for a hater in commenting this way but up until Rick shot the two, nefarious, bar guy, strangers at the very end of the episode last night I thought that I was watching some tragedy-tv movie on Lifetime.  I'm going to give it another chance but I think I'm nearing deleting the timer for this 'Story' from my DVR.

There.  I said it.

Meh.  That's how I felt through the entire first half of this season.

They need to get off the stupid farm.   I don't care about the farm or anybody on it.  The whole seven episode "search for Sophia" arc really wasn't worth the shooting gallery payoff.

I like the show but what I realized last night is that there isn't anybody on the show I'm actively supporting.  Nobody moves me.

Rick -- Too pussified and struggles to speak english.  The whole 'Hero Rick" thing is getting on my nerves.  If he had any balls he wouldn't ask Herschel for anything.  He'd bum rush the house, take it over and show him how things were gonna be.

Lori -- Hate her.  Wish a zombie would eat her.

Andrea - No real redeeming value.  Stupid bitch most of the time. Wish her hotter sister had survived.

Shane - Caricature.  Doing his mumbling best to channel Jack from The Shining, but not getting there.

Black Guy - Just a set piece.  Live or die, don't care.

Glen - Again, don't care.  Just a piece.  Zombie eats him I'm not going to be upset.

Carl, The Boy - I WANT a zombie to munch him.  Kid pisses me off.

Herschel - Don't care what his secrets are, tired of his Sesame Street Beaker face.

Maggie - Can't like her because her "dayum acksENT eyus saaaah BAYUD"  And she's not loving the Asian guy.  Sorry.

Darryl - I like him the best, but he's so nasty and they make him so one dimensional it loses me.

Short-hair -  Sophia's gone.  She can leave too.

Dale - I want to like Dale but he needs a woman.  And it won't be Andrea.

It's not a BAD show, but it just pisses me off because it could be SO much better if as said here, they hadn't hired the writing team from The Lifetime Movie Channel.

At this point I would trade the entire "search for Sophia" story arc for the story on how Dave and Tony (the two strangers in the bar at the end of this last episode) got from Philadelphia to Atlanta without being eaten...or worse.

But, we'll probably be stuck with Lifetime's Zombie Farmville for the rest of the season.
