GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Gene Chizik won another national coach of the year award Monday, just hours before his Auburn football team plays for the national title.

Chizik was honored with the Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year Award in Phoenix. Chizik won the Home Depot National Coach of the Year Award in December.

Chizik didn't attend the awards ceremony.  He was working.

Chizik has led Auburn to a 13-0 record and a spot in the BCS title game against Oregon tonight at University of Phoenix Stadium.

The Liberty Mutual award was chosen by fan voting, a committee of college football media and College Football Hall of Fame players and coaches. The four winning coaches from the four NCAA classifications receive $50,000 to donate to the charities of their choice and a $20,000 grant to his school's alumni association. Chizik said Auburn would donate part of the money to the Boys and Girls Club of Lee County.
