Mexican food anyone?
« on: March 06, 2008, 06:26:58 PM »
What I found surprising was NOT the health score of 13 (forcing this place to close among other things) but this interesting statement in the article:

Quote
The manager also said he believes they got a low score because they weren't aware of the state's new foodservice code.

Does that mean that prior to Georgia's "new" foodservice code this place was allowed to stay open?

Here's the article:

13 thats fucking outragous! I bet storing the raw out of temp chicken over the veggies gave them a great salmonella  flavor! How in the hell would you not know you had to keep food in the correct temp? Good luck opening that place ever again.

I can't take credit for the originality but one blogger noted "who would've thought that their turducken had real turds in it".

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

I worked in a lot of restaurants growing up. If you evar see a score less than 95, you should move on.

Some of the stuff that goes on in the kitchen would make you gag.

Honestly though, you have all eaten stuff that would make you want to cut off your tongue. You survived, so it couldn't be that bad.

I don't think this was an example of "not knowing".  This was an "I don't give a shit" example.  I hope the bulldoze that joint.

Just now catching up.  Thank god I've never eaten there, nor heard of the place.  I try to frequent the Mexican joints that slaughter the dogs out back, so I know the food is at its freshest.

Thrilla, I had thought that you worked in Gwinnett County which is why I singled you out at the end of my post.  My company has two shops in Lithonia where I work most of the week...there are some places around there that I am sure are not much better than this joint...of course that is DeKalb County...

Woah, when did this happen?

Friday. Work is now 4 miles from the house instead of 25.  Commuting, be damned!  I'll never deal with traffic again, unless there's a large raise involved.  I'm with the same business, in the same position, though.  But I'll save a shit-ton in gas, and the timing there couldn't be better.

Especially now that my wife is 12 weeks pregnant with our first child.  Now she can't get pissed at me for working late when I'm so close.  However, working late then driving 40 minutes home...not cool with the pregnant psycho-bitch.
