Re: 25 Greatest Rock Bands
Last defense for the day.

The musicianship isn't really as bad as people make it out to be either.  People see the spectacle and automatically dismiss it.  When you distill it down like they did for the Unplugged show, it's better than you'd think.

If there is a weak link it is in lyrics.  Most of it is really superficial, juvenile and ham fisted.

There's plenty of deeper, more introspective, more nuanced songs on the various albums but those never got much traction.  It's not what people expected or wanted from them.  The makeup and the show made them but at the same time it boxed them in and limited what they could be.

I could talk about KISS all day.  Pointless.  Not going to change anybody's mind.
Well we both know that kiss and the sopranos suck badly so why bother right?

Any list without Mel and the Party Hats, Super T, or the Velcro Pygmies is invalid.
Jupiter Coyote not make that list?

Meh...

I'd add Cheesebrokers and Rollin in the Hay to that list before JC.

If you haven't gone to a KISS show you really can't understand.

The absolute drunkest I have been post-college was at a KISS show in Peoria, IL.

Ram Jam!
Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.
