...what about Leach? Want him? I wouldn't mind that, atleast his pressers would be hilarious. He doesn't know the words "coach speak". Remember when he trashed his whole team, himself included, after a loss (himself included meaning when he said that it was his fault for putting players out there that apparently didn't know what they were doing)?

I just want a coach that doesn't have that "OH MY GOD, this play isn't going to work at all", "I don't know why I called that play again", or "I hope the 1 receiver is somewhat open and not triple covered like last time" look as he folds his arms looking more like Coach Kline than a confident coach.

We could have had Patterson when Jay grease fudgeed us with Chizik.
We could have had Patterson when Jay oil fudgeed us with Malzahn.

He’s not going to give it a third try.

I don’t want Stoops.  I damn sure don’t want Kelly. I don’t want Gruden

I want to no longer care.

So, the reverse is, he can lose 2-4 games and miss the playoffs every year at TCU and still make $5 Million per without any fear of repercussions from media or fans?  And still be revered as the best Coach evah!!!

57.  155 wins. Coach 8-9 more years.  Finish with around 230 career wins.  Maybe luck up on a championship or a Final 4 berth or two.  Go to the College Football HOF.  Again, why come to Auburn?

All depends on what he wants I guess. Just loves to coach and wants a safe job while winning and making bank? Then yeah he prob needs to stay put. If he yearns for more shots at titles - conf and playoffs. We may be a better option. I'd personally like to see what he could do with a roster full of blue chippers.

After the Malzahn buyout, we'll have to remove ourselves from football season for two years just to afford the new AD's salary. Then we must forfeit all promotions including the Under Armour and BSPN deals. Only then can we begin to think about hiring a women's softball coach.

Plus he's lined up at WR for 2 of them.

Don't know if anyone noticed, but in the 4th quarter, we had a 3rd and very long...again, and the formation included 6'1" 240 pound fullback, Chandler Cox....as a wide out.  Not in the slot.  Not H-Back or whatever the hell they call it.  A wide receiver standing 3 feet from the sidelines, ready to run a 40 yard route.

I'm sure I heard the LSU CB asking, "What the fudge?"

higher ceiling. he has ZERO slack at TCU to fudge up. at a top sec school, you might can lose twice and still get in a playoff.

You have to ask what Patterson's motivation would be for leaving.  And the question has nothing to do with the perception by some that big name coaches wouldn't want to come to this program.  I think Auburn is a top 10 coaching destination no matter how you slice it.

But where Patterson is concerned, he's the winningest coach in TCU history. (155-54) I have no clue about the Horny Toad fanbases' mindset, but I imagine he has god-like status.  In addition, he's making $4.75 million per year.  He's top 5 right now and undefeated.

So, what's the incentive to come to Auburn?  He's 57.  One last challenge?
