"Predators"

I'll give them Danny Trejo and Laurence Fishburne as kind of tough asses to have in your movie, but Adrien Brody as the Arnold Reincarnate is laughable.  I think of Brody as a skinny holocaust victim in the Piano.  When you make a remake to compete with the original Predator you have to have someone like The Rock, Vin Diesel, or even a new comer that is a badass but I'll probably wait for this one to hit HBO.

I'll definitely check it out.

Apparently Robert Rodriguez wrote this script before Desperado, and submitted it as Predator 3. The studio thought it would be way over budget, so they passed, and he went on to do Desperado.

Fifteen years later, they call him back and say "Hey, we were looking at doing a new Predator movie and we found your script. Wanna still do it?"

Looks pretty rad to me.
I'm telling you now (and you can write it down) that if he sustains that level -- seven or eight games -- next season, you should consider that a successful effort on his part.  Of course there are qualifiers depending on which games he loses and how dreadful AU looks in those losses, but just maintaining the position would be a win.
You can take the ten-win predictions and file them with the wolf-boy pictures from The Globe.

I agree it looks pretty decent, but I am getting tired of all the remakes and the old guard still hanging around from 20-30 years ago. It seems Hollywood is running out of creativity.
Fire up the conecuh, its about that time.

There is some good stuff coming out, such as Time Traveler's Wife and Twili... Nevermind, shoot me in the face.
"When I signed with Auburn University in 2007, I didn't sign with coaches. Tuberville wasn't on my scholarship, Coach Willis wasn't on my scholarship. Auburn University was on my scholarship. So when I didn't qualify, Auburn, they didn't drop me, they still kept in contact, they still kept on encouraging me. When Auburn had a down season, I sat back and thought about that, they were with me when I was down, so I decided to stick with them when they were down. Plus, it's a great place. I wouldn't want to be nowhere else." - Eltoro Freeman

It may be a sequal but It still looks like the original way too much to not be a remake.  As far as Theatre garbage, I'm taking the family to see the last air bender tomorrow.  I hope I am surprised.

I heard jamming a hot poker into your eye is better than seeing that.

I had to spend the extra 10 bucks to get the 3D experience on the last air bender but the only thing in 3d was the rolling credits and captions.  Not one Action seen had any 3d.  The movie was actually pretty good, like a Chronicles of Narnia movie, But don't waste the money on 3d.

Saw this on Saturday.  Fun action flick, nothing more (of course).

Brody is not very believable as an action star.  Fishburne's role is a fun departure from his usual super-serious, kill-joy character.

You learn a little more about the predator aliens and there is only a very brief direct reference to the Arnie-original, but there are plenty of winks and nods.

Almost forgot:  the best character in the movie was the guy that played Shane on The Shield and Boyd Crowder on Justified.  His best line:  "If I get back to Earth, I'm going to do soooooo much cocaine....and rape some bitches."

They must have stole that line from Rick James or James Brown. :vn:
