AU FOOTBALL: Tigers pick up another O-line commitment
Spanish Fort offensive lineman Reese Dismukes committed to Auburn on Wednesday afternoon, already giving the Tigers three big offensive line prospects for the class of 2011.
Dismukes was to be choosing between Alabama and Auburn at the press conference, which was live-streamed on the Montgomery Advertiser’s website, but he said his mind was made up two weeks ago.
“When you go there, you don’t see a different picture every time you go. You get the same thing every time,” said Dismukes, who was at Saturday’s A-Day game at Jordan-Hare Stadium. “Everyone’s family.“
Dismukes, a 6-foot-3, 275-pound center, is a four-star recruit, according to Scout.com, and ranks as the No. 3 center in the nation. He is also an
Under Armour All-American and a member of the ESPNU 150 Watch List.
Dismukes said he understands the future of Auburn’s offensive line. Four of the five players expected to start this season won’t be around when he enrolls, including center Ryan Pugh.
“Whatever I do, I have to work and do my thing,” Dismukes said. “It’s not going to be handed to me, but I definitely have an opportunity to play.“
Dismukes, who also had offers from Alabama, Stanford, Florida State and Ole Miss among others, joins Spencer Region (Cullman) and Thomas O’Reilly (Marietta, Ga.) as the third offensive lineman to commit for 2011. Auburn’s current class of commitments stands at five.
