While there are many unknowns about this 2010 team in terms of NFL ability, we do know that the 2004 had a tremendous amount of NFL talent.
So, let’s take a look at the matchups based on what we know of their college ability:

2004′s strengths:
1. Ability to control the clock
Marcus McNeil and Ben Grubbs were both solid offensive linemen who could control the line of scrimmage against anybody. Center Danny Lindsay had experience and intelligence to set the blocking scheme presnap. Running back had the ability to substitute without losing a step keeping Ronnie Brown and Carnell Williams’ legs fresh. Ben Obamanu, Devin Aromashadu, Anthony Nix, and Courtney Taylor were four possession receivers that Jason Campbell could rely on.

10 days of hell. A media circus. Questions arising over a star player’s eligibility. Questions arising over the future of our coach and athletic director. Allegations. Insinuations. Sources. Confirmations. Denials.
Yet, out of all of the chaos came two statements that so far seem to be the only two statements that are holding firm:
“I did nothing wrong” – Cam Newton
“Cam Newton is eligible to play football at Auburn. Period.” – Gene Chizik
The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
- You held a man down on his own turf and tried to gouge his eyeball out. You were making no attempt to be discreet, and you had no regard for the NCAA rulebook. Everyone, including the camera man, watched you attempt to injure a player that had just been blocked into the leg of your quarterback. It was one of the dirtiest plays I have ever seen in college football. You, #61, are The Bad.

Why it really is almost as fun to watch them lose as it is to watch us win:
From Facebook:
“Fire that motherf–ker McElwain. We won’t score a point against Georgia St!”
From the post game radio show:
(Speaking very slowly) – “Now, I ain’t drunk or nothing so you better not go hanging up on me. Don’t you hang up on me, ok? Now, I’ve been a Bama fan since Joe Nameth was playing. I’ve been a Bama fan since the 60s. And I love Eli Gold. I do. I think he’s been great. But today? He was rooting for the other team. As the Bama play caller, he should be positive for Bama every game. Every play. That’s how the Bear would have had him do it. But today? He wanted LSU to win. When #4 had that football in his hands, which he did catch that football, Eli was quick to say he didn’t catch it. Because he wanted LSU to win. When #22 had the ball in his hands, Eli was quick to say he didn’t. I love Eli, but today, he was helping LSU win that football game.”

Perhaps if Ole Miss would have gone with Admiral Ackbar as their mascot, they would have had more success with their so called “trap game.”
DirecTV…
-
- What’s ironic (perhaps coincidental?) is that on Thursday, my wife informed me that our DirecTV bill jumped from $51 a month to $94 a month. No warning. We discussed switching to Charter, but we did say we enjoyed the HD programming and the numerous channels you get with the basic DirecTV package.
- Then I turned on channel 209 to watch my Auburn Tigers play. What? Where’s the game? Oh…it’s blacked out on DirecTV and DirecTV only.
- I scrambled to find another channel, but there was no other channel. Nothing carrying Auburn football.
- My facebook blew up: “How could we let an 83 yard touchdown happen on the 2nd play?”
